The German power metal band Metalium was formed in 1998 by the bass player Lars Ratz. While booking bands for club tours he had been in touch with a band called American Rock Live where Chris Caffery (Savatage) and Mike Terrana (Yngwie Malmsteen, Rage) played. They became friends and began to write material for what came to be the band Metalium. The band recorded the song "Burning" for the Nuclear Blast "Tribute To Accept" album and also wrote three songs of their own while in the studio. A four track demo was the result which they presented to Massacre Records who signed the band right away. Several albums and line-up changes have followed since then.
