Death/thrash/black pluton from Sundsvall, founded in april 2001 by John
(drums),
Anders (guitar) and Max (bass). Singer Ramin Farhadian soon joined the
band and
the first demo "New path/Same path" was recorded during two hectic days
of July
'01 in Trackline Studios (Sundsvall). In January of 2002 they recruited
Stefan
Kihlgren on second guitar and in March they entered Studio Domsaga
(Sundsvall) to
record the second four song demo cd "Dissection of a mind". In May MY
OWN GRAVE
played at Festivalplats Luleå with among other bands Deathstars. The
response
from the crowd was very positive. Summer of 2002 resulted in only one
gig at
Smack Rockfestival (Timrå) were they performed a quite unexpected cover
of
Immortal's "Sons of Northern Darkness". Dismember also played Smack
Rockfestival
that year.
In December it was once again time to enter Studio Domsaga. Demo number
three
"Blood and ashes" was recorded and mixed during a three day period.
Unfortunately
the sound result was not as good as earlier releases. In April 2003
Ramin
Farhadian was replaced by Mikael "Aron" Aronsson (Cavevomit,
Grottmongo,
Ontogenesis) on vocals. This line-up change was due to lack of interest
from
Farhadian's side. The summer of 2003 resulted in two gigs: The demo
band stage at
"Sundsvalls Gatufest" and at Smack Rockfestival where, among others,
The Haunted,
Diabolical and In Battle also played.
In July MY OWN GRAVE recorded a promotion (one-track) cd with the newly
written
song "From the ashes". In September they also did a gig in Zola Predosa
(Italy).
In January MY OWN GRAVE entered Studio Domsaga to, for the third time
in a row,
work with producer Roger Bergsten. The result was the five song demo CD
"Progression through deterioration" which included early recorded promo
song From
the ashes and also the straight-forward, punk-influenced song
Alcoholocaust where
Aron and Anders of MY OWN GRAVE take turns behind the microphone with
no less
than five more singers from other local bands: Setherial, SYN:DROM,
Disconnected,
Gravelgrinder and Hectorite.
In May 2004, MY OWN GRAVE were contracted by Karmageddon Media and the
debut
album "Unleash" was recorded and mixed that autumn during a total of 5
weeks at
Studio Necromorbus (Stockholm). Producer was "Widda" Widgren of
Diabolical.
The album was released on Karmageddon Media in January 2006 and is
distributed
worldwide by Plastic Head.
