Mynjun is a metal band that was founded in 2002 in Stockholm, Sweden,
by
Adam Skogvard. The intention was, and still is, to play extreme music,
blending elements of black metal, death metal and other forms of
aggressive music with a melodic and atmospheric feel. At this time the
whole thing was more of a project than a proper band, since Adam
Skogvard was the only member. At an early stage Jonas "Skinny" Kangur
was told about the project, and soon he joined Mynjun as a second
guitarist. They soon met David Isberg, at a club in Stockholm. He was a
friend of Jonas and became interested in joining the band as a
vocalist.
David proved to be full of interesting ideas, but early on he felt that
he could not dedicate enough time to the band due to other commitments.
A drummer was found in Ronnie Bergerståhl, who joined the band as a
permanent member in October 2002. The band put out an ad on the
Internet, and got a reply from Rickard Thulin, who was interested in
joining as a bassist, which he did. After a few rehearsals in October
he
became a permanent member of the band. During the month of November the
band started looking for a new guitar player, since Jonas stated that
he
would not be able to rehearse with the band on a regular basis.
In early 2003 Adam took on the vocal duties in addition to playing
guitar. Daniel Josefsson joined the band as second guitarist in 2003.
In
January 2003 Mynjun's official website (www.mynjun.com) was launched.
Soon after this the band started working on the first proper demo-
cd "Commencement".
"Commencement" was released in December 2003 and contains two songs: "A
Dismal Token" and "Memories Intertwine".
