Necrophagist was created by Muhammed Suicmez (guitar/vocals)
in November 1991 in Gaggenau, Germany along with Jochen Bitt-mann
(bass) and Raphael Kempermann (drums). With this line-up, they have recorded
their 1st demo in April 1992. Jan-Paul Herm (guitar) joined the band in
December 1992, but he was no longer in the band since 1995 due to his
obligation to the university. And then the 2nd demo was recorded with
Mathias Holzapfel as a guest guitar player. Raphael Kempermann left the
band in September 1995. Daniel Silva fills his position. Necrophagist
playing at numerous shows during 1997-1998.
Finally the band signed an one album deal with Velvet Music (France
label) in June 1998. But in the next month, Daniel Silva resigned from the
band because of personal reasons. And so only 2 members left on the
band's debut album entitled "Onset of Putrefaction" recording sessions. A
machine programming was used to create the drum part. It took August
1998 - April 1999 to have the completion and Velvet Music unleashed it to
the masses in November 1999. The response was incredible. "Onset of
Putrefaction" consists of 8 mega brutal death metal songs that mankind
couldn't imagine before. It's very technical in the way of guitar riffings
and solos, also have a lot of complex structures. Have you ever thought
if Dream Theater, Suffocation and Cryptopsy joined their forces?
Necrophagist is the answer! Necrophagist has it all!
February 2000, Slawek Foltyn (drums) and Mario Petrovic (guitar) joined
the band and began to learn the Necrophagist songs. May 2001, Velvet
Music has closed its door, and Bruno (the label owner) sold the
"Onset..." copyrights to Adipocere Records (another France label).
Mario Petrovic left the band as well due to lack of time for
rehearsing. Bjoern Vollmer will fill his part, who played a guest solo on
"Extreme Unction" from the "Onset Of Putrefaction" album already. He is
progressing quite fast and will be able to join the band on stage very soon.
Slawek Foltyn has definitely left the band due to the bad recovery from
his injuries. As far as he can't tell when he'll undergo further
surgical treatment, he decided to leave the band and let Daniel Silva (former
Necrophagist) get a full member again after helping out since Slawek's
accident.
Necrophagist is working on new tracks for the 2nd album, whose
recording is expected to start around December this year. 4 new songs are
nearly completed and need to be arranged; preliminary titles would be
"Stabwound", a sonic attack unmatched in brutality in the vein of "Foul Body
Autopsy", a title from the debut. "The Deadborn One" is Necrophagist's
trial to combine slow with fast tempi and melody with intense
brutality. With "Diminished To b" the band's sinister and violent approach to
progressive yet catchy tunes will be continued and driven to maximum. The
tonal assault the new compositions will provide can be experienced at
the coming live-dates.
Bjoern Vollmer (guitar) and Julien Laroche (bass) have left
Necrophagist due to their obligation to university. Christian Münzner will fill
the guitar part and is up to date already, but the band is still looking
for a new bassplayer. If you think you have the skill to play the
basslines, feel free to e-mail us. We wish Bjoern and Jul all the best for
their future from here...
