Once again the metal community is about to witness the splendid shock of energy delivered by a debut album. There's nothing quite like it; the do or die factor, the pent-up energy finally released, the sheer joy of letting loose a torrent of molten metal... "Deus Deceptor" was recorded in twelve intense days to avoid excess flab and making sure the rough edges were left to be heard. Guitarist Johan Reinholdz (Andromeda) captures the turmoil in a way that will surprise you with the many moods of the guitar work, from crystal clear in the chill parts to raging improvisation in solos verging on insanity. Drummer Matte Modin (Defleshed/Dark Funeral) drives it home with a groove that makes Nonexist swing in an irresistible way, while unleashing a sinister attack of dual bass drum bombardment. It's metal, folks! On top, like a venomous icing on the metal cake (!), Johan Liiva makes the vocal performance of his life. And mind you, the man paid his dues in Arch Enemy. In fact, "Deus Deceptor" will have fans of "Black Earth" (Arch Enemy debut masterpiece) nodding with approval. The only difference is that "Deus Deceptor" is a slightly better album...
