The infernal hate machine Obitus was formed in May 2000 by Anders Ahlbäck and Johan Huldtgren. The two had known one another for a couple of years, playing together in a local thrash/death band called Vaticide. They soon realised that they needed a new medium for their far more brutal and hatefull side. Hence Obitus was born.
That summer a demo MCDr, Coup De Grâce, was recorded and released on Johan's newly started demo label R.A.P.E. Records. The demo was received very well and got acclaims from everywhere.
However a small ignorant part of the people that saw the explicit artwork for it did not understand the hatefull nature of Obitus but chose to consider it NS music. Obitus has never and will never endorse NS, racist or any other life-affirming ideologies. Obitus stands for the total annihilation of the human race.
Obitus next endevour was to appear on 4-way split "Gather Against Humanity" with USBM hords Kult ov Azazel & Humanicide and French horde Thy Lord. After countless delays the split was finally released on Christcrusher Productions.
Obitus's next release was to be the full-length album "Sonnilon" which is fully written and with the exception of the vocals fully recorded. However as time went on, and no contract could be secured for the successful distribution of this album, the choice was made to cancel it.
Obitus is now in the process of writing a new album. Not much can be said about it yet, except that it's going to be challenging; both for the artists and audience.
