OBSCENE EULOGY was formed in late 1999 in New Brunswick,
Canada. Obscene Eulogy is a project designed to create the essence of pure
horror through the medium of extreme metal.
The band was formed by N. and Disease. At this point they were in
search of a vocalist. They needed someone who had a vicious and sincere
approach to brutality.
In 2001 a vocalist was found as Mika Luttinen (IMPALED NAZARENE) joined
the band. He gave the band not only brutal vocals, but also unique
lyrics by using his mother tongue Finnish. This should be a huge bonus for
all the listeners from Finland, as they're the only ones to understand
this lyrical brutality.
2001 - Mika Luttinen from Impaled Nazarene joins the band as the
vocalist.
March 2001 - The band starts to record the demo "A Portal Into Fire".
March 2002 - After many delays the band finally released the demo.
July 2002 - Obscene Eulogy signs to Baphomet records. The label agrees
to release the demo as a MCD and a full length album to follow.
Necrophagia's Killjoy agrees to perform the vocals on the track "Mortem
Paradise" [he also wrote the lyrics] off the debut album.
September 2002 - Obscene Eulogy begin to record the debut album
"Defining Hate - The Truth Undead".
January 2003 - Baphomet Records releases the demo "A Portal Into Fire"
as a MCD.
January 2004 - Baphomet Records releases "Defining Hate - The Truth
Undead".
March 2004 - Obscene Eulogy are working on new material for the next
release planned for late 2004 - early 2005.
April 2004 - Luttinen leaves the band. A new vocalist is in search.
