Band biography

Obscure was formed in Valencia in 1989 as one of the early Spanish death metal bands. The issued three demos before splitting up in 1994 with two members moving on to create the gothic / doom metal act Nadir. The band contributed the songs "Blessing of Malignancy" and "Through Self-Repulsion" to the "Death Metal Party" compilation disc released by PSM Music in 1995.

In August 2005 Obscure re-emerged from a lengthy hibernation. Original members Anselmo (bass), Rafa (guitars) and Vicent (vocals) recruited new blood in drummer David (also of Nadir) and guitarist Jose. In January 2009 the band took part in the Battlefield Metal Fest in Valencia together with Sinister, Fleshcrawl, Zed Yago, ADX among others.
