Onslaught is one of the most successful European thrash metal bands in the late 80's. The band was first formed in Bristol, England, in 1983 and in the early days they played a rough mix of punk, hardcore and metal while slowly becoming a pure thrash metal band. Their third album was not received very well and in 1991 they decided to split up. The "What Lies Ahead" demo featured live and rehearsal material which Paul Mahoney put together to send out to zines. "Daffodils" was a compilation LP which had two tracks by the original Onslaught with Roger on vocals. The band Militia was formed when Jase was "fired" and they decided to start as a three-piece band which included James Hinder's brother. During 2005 Onslaught was resurrected, announced their participation in the X-Mass Festivals 2005 touring package together with Exodus, Occult, Kataklysm, Unleashed, Behemoth and Primordial. A new studio album was planned for an early 2006 release.
