Pictures of Pain is a melodic metal band from the west coast of Norway. The band has a great spectre in their musicstyle, from slow to hard and aggressive sound. The vocals switch a lot between clean, screaming and growling parts.
The band was formed by Frode Gundersen (drums) and Hans Helge Iversen (vocals) in 2004. Later on the band was completed with Roy Ostrem (bass), Rune Fredriksen (guitar) and Jan Gunnar Tangen (guitar)
18-20 November 2005, Pictures of Pain recorded their first demo "Pictures of Pain" at Black Dimension Studio. The band did their second studio recording autumn 2006. This recording became the bands second demo "From the Ashes". One of the songs fom this demo were selected to be included on Karmoygeddon's compilation-cd "Metal from Haugaland", released Nov 2006.
March 2007 the band were in the Norwegian Final, "Wacken Metal Battle", which took part in Trondheim.
The band will be one, among other bands like Kamelot, Doro, Scar Symmetry, Keep of Kallessin, 1349 and Ensiferum, to take part at Karmoygeddon Metal Festival Mai 2007.
