Plasmatics, The photo
The Plasmatics were created by radical conceptual anti-artist Rod Swenson (with an MFA from Yale) in 1977 around the now legendary Wendy O. Williams. The Plasmatics made history with almost every show the arrests on Plasmatics changed American culture. Banned in London, obscenity charges and arrests across US Wendy O. Williams and Plasmatics pushed the limits of music and art, TV smashings, the videos, audio and tours. Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics they introduced the mohawk haircut into rock and roll and American culture. Chainsaw rock. Performance anti-art Wendy O. Williams went from the Barbie Doll on acid to dominatrix of the decibels the queen of shock rock, and with her arrests on sex charges for supposedly simulating masturbation with a sledgehammer became a cause celebre to quote the New York Times. Wendy O. Williams was nominated for a Grammy Award as best female rock vocalist and broke all kinds of cultural taboos. The Plasmatics as numerous writers have noted set the stage for the likes of Marilyn Manson, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Gene Simmons of KISS produced a Wendy O. Williams solo album and numerous others were converts to Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics radical part dadaist, pre- grunge, radical alternative, extreme anti boredom escape for the bored rock and roll. Without doubt Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics were one of the most influential groups in the history of rock and roll, and without doubt the most radical.

Both Wes Beech and Jean Beauvoir wrote songs for Kiss. Beech's song "Love's A Deadly Weapon" appeared on the "Asylum" album. Jean Beauvoir turned down offers to join the touring bands of both Prince and Michael Jackson.

Wendy Orlean Williams committed suicide on April 6th 1998 and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She had been despondent for some time.
