Reflexion was born in 1995 when few rock diggers came to the
conclusion that the world needs one more good rock band. So Heikka and
Jolma formed a band of their own. 1996 Kylmänen and Pohjola joined the
band and they started to write their own stuff. First gig took place at
"school's out festival" spring 1996 in front of few thousand people. In
1997 Reflexion recorded their first demo, cassette which sold about
thousand copies. Year later, they recorded the second demo and got the
attention of many record-companies but after long negotiations Reflexion
decided to wait for a better deal and kept on doing gigs in Finland.
1999-2000 Reflexion participated to Finnish rock talent competition and
made it all the way to the grand final. The competition was held by the
national TV-station MTV3 and also partly shown on air. Just months
later, Reflexion music was used in snowboarding movie called 'Extreme
Radical' which was also broadcasted nationwide. Pretty soon Finish
TV-program called 'Hotsport' wanted Reflexion music to their weekly show. So
Reflexion music rocked their sport-show for ten episodes in national TV.
In 2001 'For my pain…' - now a rather well-known gothic metal band,
asked Kylmänen to join their project. The line-up contains many big names
from the Finnish metal scene: Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish) Lauri
Tuohimaa (Charon) Altti Veteläinen (Eternal Tears of Sorrow). Meanwhile,
Reflexion keyboardist Antti Pikkarainen backed up Sentenced on the road
throughout their Cold White Light-European tour.
2003 Reflexion recorded "Journey to tragedy EP" and signed a deal with
Scandinavian A1 Music Ltd. Soon after, the first music video 'Crashing
Down' was shot and band has also toured Finland with Charon. Reflexion
is heading to Russia for live performances later in 2004.
