The story of Rising Faith begun in the late nineties when Rising Faith raised from the ashes with the call to conquer the metal scene and spawn a new era in this earthly musicsphere.
Rising Faith plays power-heavy metal with the will to create a forceful sphere with their energetic sound and fightful will.
The band formed when Kristian Wallin answered an advertisment about musicians looking for a guitarist/vocalist, shortly thereafter mark 1 of Rising Faith was born. Having only rehearsed for a couple of months they were ready to enter the studio and record a demo simply named "Demo -99". "Demo -99" received mostly good critics from media and MP3 Magazine (UK) selected the track "Quest for steel" to be featured on a cover-mounted CD (featuring tracks in MP3 format). The print-run of the first issue was 45 000 copies.
In 2000 the band wanted to progress as songwriters and musicians. This led to adding another guitarplayer to the line up. The man for the job was Jimmie Bergkvist, an expressive player who had just finished his guitarstudies at the MIT. After some months of rehearsing and writing new songs with the new line-up, the time was right to enter the studio once again. This time to record a mini-CD with 5 songs. They choosed a studio in Gothenburg (Swe) called Los Angered Recordings. The promo-CD, entitled "Imagination", was mixed and mastered by Andy La Roque (King Diamond, Death) and released in October 2000.
With this release they moved a big step forward. In late 2001 Rising Faith decided to enter the studio to record a CD, known as promo 2001. While promoting the CD Kristian decided to quit playing the guitar and focusing 100% on his vocals instead. Facing the choice of carrying on as a four piece or adding another member to the line up they called guitarist Fredrik Jordanius and asked him if he'd like to have a go at the spot. Two months later he was a fullworthy member of the band and the quest for a record deal begun.
After "Demo 99" their music have been taken a clearly progression towards the more heavier and darker sound, you could already hear it on the Imagination CD, Promo 2001 and even more on their new created pieces. Yet their sound is still dominated by their typical hard and heavy sound but for that reason they have not lost the feeling for strong melodies.
Combining the tight seven-string twin guitar attack from Jimmie and Fredrik with the explosive drumming from Tony Gelander and a clean, punchy bass from Stefan together with Kristians melodic, powerful voice, Rising Faith has found a formula that makes them worthy contenders to the big stages on this coming summers festivals as well as the recordlabels. Things as the strong riffing, solid and fiercefull energy, high potential instrumental knowledge has made Rising Faith to an outstanding metal band. In the international metal scene these elements will be of great importance for their crusade towards the victory.
