The American heavy metal band Rottweiller was formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1983. Former Snowblind vocalist Paul Crisman had heard that Jeff Gilbert of Ground Zero Records was producing a compilation album called Northwest Metalfest and therefore assembled a band and recorded the song "Intense As Hell" for that album. They recorded their debut album "Screams Of The Innocent" at Studio One in Burien, Washington, in 1985, which was re-released in 2002 by the German metal specialist Hellion Records. In 1986 a promo tape was recorded with another drummer. Rottweiller played a lot of shows with the big Seattle bands such as Culprit, Heir Apparent, TKO, Randy Hansen, Myth and Upper Echelon but also supported national acts who were coming through town like Slayer and Paul Di'Anno's Battlezone. After having recorded the promo tape in 1986 the interest for metal was waning and the band split up. Izzy started his own business in home improvement and the others went on with their lives as well. In 2001 Terry Gorle took their cd with him to Hellion Records when he went to Germany with Culprit to play at the Wacken Open Air Festival. Rottweiller was resurrected and the following year they also got to play at Wacken.
