The American hard rock band Saigon Kick was formed in Miami, Florida, in 1988. Two years later the young promising act had been picked up by major label Atlantic Records. Their debut album made for an impressive career and their sophomore effort "The Lizard" reached gold sales status, leading to a tour in support of fellow hard rockers Extreme.
Mid way through the recordings of a 1993 album called "Water" the band parted ways with original vocalist Matt Kramer, leaving guitarist Jason Bieler to take over the role as lead vocalist. For some reason the deal with Atlantic ran its course and in 1995 they had switched over to C.M.C. International for the release of "Devil In The Details". The band split up after some further touring in 1996.
Kramer had teamed up with Harry Cody from Sweden's Shotgun Messiah and guitarist Jimmy Griffin (ex-King Of The Hill) to see the release of an album under the project name of Coma during 1995 but it never led to a final product.
A brief reunion took place in July 1997 with Kramer reinstated on vocals but future Super TransAtlantic (a band also to feature Bieler; they appeared on the "American Pie" soundtrack) drummer Ricky Sanders replacing Varone. Only two shows took place before the band broke up once again.
A new reunion attempt was to take place in 2000 with Kramer, DeFile and Varone onboard. They toured briefly with Slaughter guitarist Jeff Blando stepping in before disappearing again.
Chris McLernon does music productions for TV, film and advertising while Jason Bieler owns a studio in South Florida with his brother Aaron called Bieler Brothers Records. The siblings have managed numerous groups such as Nonpoint, Skindred and Sikth.
