In June 2006 it was reported that former Dropbox members John Kosco (guitars, vocals) and Joey Wilkinson (guitars) had joined forces with ex-Bloodsimple / Downset drummer Chris Hamilton and bassist John "Eville" Freeman to formed a new band called Saint Caine and were working on their debut album. Early auditions for the drummer position saw them passing on Matt Byrne of Hatebreed and Derek Kerswil of Seemless, mostly since they had their own bands. Chris Hamilton was then recommended to Kosco by both Shannon Larkin (Godsmack) and Shaun Glass (Soil).

April and May 2007 saw the band playing a few shows in support of Sevendust and Godsmack. They also teamed up with Linkin Park manager Rob McDermott and Mad Mac Entertainment.
