| Band biography |
Their first concert was in Nov ´85, already with two new members. Thru the years the band have had several line-up changes, to this day there have been 30 different members!!! The only original member left is Stephan Dark. He have played every instrument, exept for the drums, in the different line-ups. Some of the members have continued making music, ranging from industrial noice thru punkrock to death metal. Some members have got in all sorts of trubble, such as drug, police and psychological problems.
In 1987, the band made a professional live recording, but due to economical problems they never bought the final product. During that year, they also won a local music competition and played in front of 800 people. The band have actually played about 100 gigs in their 16 years history...
1988, they finally got to record their only demo recording. This Demo had 3 songs entitled Violent Massacre, One night in hell and Satanic Queen. During this year Dark had to put Satanic Slaughter to rest, when he was arrested and put in jail for battery. The band started up again in Dec ´88 with a new line-up. Moto was replaced by Andy on vocals, since he had a very simular voice to Mille in Kreator...
After a gig with the Thrash heroes Mezzrow among with Midas Touch and God B.C. in May ´89 it was time for another member change. All but Andy and Dark was replaced. The new band had only existed for about a month when they did some gigs with bands like Grave, Merciless, Orchriste and Total Death. In Dec ´89 Stephan Dark put the band to rest. Dark joined the death-thrash metal combo Morbidity and the mighty CRUZIFIED ANGEL. He later formed Morgue, with members from Orchriste and Elected Butcher(!).
In 1995 Necropolis Records released the first full-length album, "s/t", with Satanic Slaughter. People were shocked about the extremely fast and intense music. The album were recorded at unisound studio with the famous producer Dan Swanö. Only a year after the first release the second album "Land of the Unholy Souls" was released by Necropolis Records. "Land of the unholy souls" had a better sound quality and it also contained two old songs from the early demo, "One night in hell" and "Satanic Queen". After "Land of the unholy souls" Ztephan changed the line-up completely. The old members formed Witchery and signed to Necropolis records. The new members who joined the metal act Satanic Slaughter were Andreas, Kecke, Fille and Robban. In -98 Satanic Slaughter and Lord Belial invaded Germany for a mini-tour.
When Satanic Slaughter got back to Sweden they entered studio Helltower and recorded their 3rd full-length album "Afterlife Kingdom". The album were released by Loud n´Proud records in late -99. "Afterlife Kingdom" got great reviews all over the world. Due to lack of time Kecke and Robban left the band in -99 but the vacancies were soon filled by Axenrot (ex Triumphator) and Stefan. In 2000 Satanic Slaughter and the norwegian black metal act Ragnarok played ten gigs around Europe. Satanic Slaughter are currently working on new songs and will enter studio Helltower in January for the recording of the new album.
