SAVALLION DAWN was founded in early 1999 by the members Dirk Schramme (guitar), Lars Tiede (bass), Philipp Roeske (guitar), Nikolas Fritz (drums)und Michael Beckers (vocals) . Our style: melodic Power Metal.
After about 8 months we recorded our first 3-Track Demo CD "Black Skies" in the studio of a friend of us (Cord Hanken, ,Art Temple Production', Birkenweg 25, 26203 Tungeln, Germany, Tel.: +49-4407-922727,Email: lacerate@gmx.de). We planned to record the CD just for us and to send it away to get some gigs. But then Michael Beckers had to go seperate ways because the problems between him and the rest of the band got worst, so our plans of playing live died. We decided to send it away to some German magazines just to see what happened.
First reactions came from a German magazine called Break Out, where our CD got best critics in issue number 2/2000. A months later in one of the biggest German magazine Heavy, oder was!? we got surprisingly 10 of 12 Points (See Reviews).
During the time after more and more fan- and webzines mailed us to review "Black Skies". Even there the "notes" where good. Some bands asked us to play live with them, but we couldn´t without a singer.
It took 14 months, until we found a new one: In November a guy from Paderborn, Carl Delius, called us and asked to sing in our band. After one or two rehearsings we agreed and he moved near our hometown to be a part of SAVALLION DAWN.
In March 2001 Dirk left the band for personal reasons and even Carl left us in June to study in spain for half a year. Again our problems returned.
It was in July 2001 when we got to know Thomas Klein. He said he plays the guitar and some days later we met in our practice room to see if he was the right one to play with SAVALLION DAWN. He was.
And finally we´ve found a guy who can sing. His name is Ernesto Monteiro, a 30-year old Metalhead from Uruguay. We started to work out all the songs we´ve written ´til now and try to organize some gigs and record a new CD. Once again, after almost three years we go to the Art Temple Studio of Cord Hanken to record "The Charge". For further informations about the CD click here.
During our recording and mixing sessions, we organized an official Wacken:Open:Air-Party in Oldenburg, Studio B with LACERATE, XIRON und SAVALLION DAWN. It was our first concert with this band and with 200 people coming to the concert we were very pleased!
On the 21st of August we finished th CD. Now we´re ready for the future...
Until the end of the year, we played some gigs with Xiron, Lacerate, Guerrilla, Infearior, Avanitas, The Awakening and Deadly Sin.
Now, in 2003, we started again to record a CD with 9 songs which will hopefully be published in April or May.
And again, there´re many gigs confirmed here in Germany and we´re sure, there´ll be more!
After some months the recordings were stopped due to technical problems and lack of time. In July we decided to sign a deal with Sound Riot Records (Portugal) after some time of negotiations. The Deal contains the re-release of "The Charge" (new mastered and with two bonus tracks) and a full new CD, which hopefully will be released in early summer of 2004.
