SCARIOT is an Norwegian metal act formed back in 1997 by Daniel Olaisen
There’s been several line-up changes and setbacks during our existence, but the faith in our music is the reason for us still being around.
Our style has also progressed since the beginning, but we still include
many elements from various metal genres. We think every metalhead will
find something interesting in our music. SCARIOT is a mix of influences the
five members have had throughout the years. The basic is real heavy and
groovy metal with interesting and catchy melodies. SCARIOT provides
quality and our own sound we think!
Demolition Records released our debut album "Deathforlorn" in September
2000. This album got great reviews, but Demolition wasn’t able to
support us, and both the promotion and the upcoming tour failed.
Anyway, they decided to let us enter the studio to record our second
effort, "Tongueless God". When we’d finished the recording, Demolition
made a sudden turn. They gave us an unacceptable choice which resulted
in a mutual break-up. So there we were with a great album in hand and a
studiobill we had to pay on ourselves. The album was never released...
In January 2002, SCARIOT got a new vocalist. Shortly after we recorded
the "Pinion Dark" demo to show the new Scariot. This demo lack of bad
production, so we made a new and by far much more improved promotion
demo, "Pushing For Perfection", in August 2002, and this production
really shows the potential and quality in SCARIOT.
Early 2003, we signed to German OS Music, who was supposed to re-release
Tongueless God as well as release our new album, Strange to Numbers. But
once again a label fucked up for us. Very frustrated at that moment it
was like a wish come true when Frode Øien and Face Front wanted to
step in and realize the release of Strange to Numbers...
