Formed as a quartet in Nancy, France in January 1994, SCARVE made their first steps with a self-titled demo tape featuring a rough, yet personal mixture of death and heavy metal. Reviewers acclaimed the originality of the music, as well as the wide vocal range which remains to this day an essential ingredient of SCARVE's sound.

The self-financed mini-CD Six Tears of Sorrow, released in 1996, confirmed the band's undeniable songwriting capabilities. It was received with countless praising reviews worldwide, and established SCARVE as one of the most promising French underground acts.
In 1998, the addition of two new vocalists, specializing in melodic and brutal vocals respectively, gave the band the potential to fully express their musical ambitions. One promo-CD later, SCARVE signed to Furtive Metal. The resulting 11 song missile, entitled Translucence, benefits from a crushing production courtesy of mastermind Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, In Flames, Darkane, Dragonlord). A deadly mixture of dark melodies, futuristic atmospheres and relentless brutality, Translucence absorbs the listener into a terrifying universe evoking the infinite possibilities and dangers of nano-technology and genetic manipulation. The album was released throughout Europe by (now defunct) Swedish label War Music.
SCARVE's brand new full-length bomb entitled Luminiferous, once again produced by Daniel Bergstrand, saw the light of day in March 2002. Including blasting futuristic masterpieces such as "Emulate The Soul", "Capsized" and "Infertile Ways", Luminiferous takes the sextet's unique personality to a whole new level of inspired extremity. For its release, the band inked a worldwide deal with Listenable Records, and played throughout the European continent alongside renowned acts such as No Return, Nile, Dew-Scented, Pungent Stench, Aborted, Sinister, Myrkskog, Reclusion, and many more, totalling over 40 concerts in 2002 only. In October of the same year, Luminiferous saw a US release through World War III Records.
Currently, the band prepares its third full-length offering, which will be recorded in July 2003 at Daniel Bergstrand's Dug Out Studio, and released by Listenable Records in January 2004. Several one-off festival appearances are also scheduled for the coming months.
