Sephiroth was founded by Damien Kerpentier and Chris Both, on January 29th 2003. After a short period being called nibbel, we changed the name into Sephiroth. (Not referable with the Final Fantasy character) With a new name and singer Ben de Graaff, Sephiroth started making a mix between Black and Deathmetal. With various bass players and new guitar player Gregory den Hertog, Sephiroth did many shows in various cities. Later in 2003 we had enough material for our demo called "Carnage Of The Souls". This demo was received very well and plans were made to record an album.
But with the leaving of Gregory and our bass player, Sephiroth stranded for a couple of months. In March 2005 they contacted bass player Lennert Riedé and Guitar player Julian Schaap. Unfortunately, Lennert had to leave the band after a couple of months. So we decided to stay as a four piece band. Sephiroth dropped their Blackmetal influences and stayed a Deathmetal band, dropping the songs from the first demo, to make a fresh new start.
In September 2007 Sephiroth finally found a bassplayer to complete the line-up. The new bassplayer is a local friend of the band called Gerben Goldenbeld, member of the blackmetal band Nachtwraak (which is on hiatus) and ex-member of Tempus Fugit.
In early 2008 we decided to change our name to "Sepiroth" due to similar artist names problems. From there on we continued as Sepiroth!
In September 2009 friend and guitarplayer Julian left the band due to musical differences and personal reasons.At the end of october we found a new guitarplayer!His name is Manke Nelis(Niels Lanser)We are now busy to learn him the songs.
Throughout the years we were able to play with many great bands like ONSLAUGHT(UK), SKINLESS(USA), SINISTER(NL), SEVERE TORTURE(NL), PUTREFIED(NL), ANCIENT RITES(BE),COCK AND BALL TORTURE(DE), FLESHLESS(CH), RECTAL SMEGMA(NL), TORSOFUCK(FIN), PLEURISY(NL), SANATORIUM(SLO), HOUWITSER(NL), PANTHEIST(UK), NUNSLAUGHTER(USA),NOMINON(SE),DIGESTED FLESH(USA), DEMONICAL(SE),EVOCATION(SE),PIGSTY(CH), CAEDERE(NL), KATAFALK(NL), OBTRUNCATION(NL) and many more!
