Debut demo "Behold The Beginning" was recorded at Studio Lagret the 15th and 18th December 1997. It features three tracks, each quite different from the other, of which the now immortal "Violent Torture" seemed to be in the right direction that the band wanted to go. Limited to 300 copies "Behold the beginning" is now completely sold out.
Serpent Obscene’s second effort simple entitled "Massacre" was recorded at Gurans Studio January 7th and 8th and mixed January 21st 1999. This demo also consists of three songs, all in the more aggressive vein that developed since the last demo. Titles are: "Rapid Fire, "Evil Rites" and "Terror from the sky". With "Massacre" Serpent Obscene landed a record deal with Necropolis Records and an album will be recorded in mars 2000.
The self-titled debut album was recorded in Berno Studios, Malmö, Sweden in a week in mars 2000. Being just under 30 min long, it manifests what Serpent Obscene has come to be all about: Totally uncompromising death/thrash metal.
In mars 2001 original drummer, Jonas Eriksson, decided to leave the band and pursue other goals. Christofer Barkensjö replaces him.
Serpent Obscene returns to Berno Studios in Aug 2002 to record their second album. This piece of violence is baptized ”Devastation” and that is just what it is. Building upon the more aggressive songs on their critically acclaimed debut album and adding a more powerful production, ”Devastation”, is the bands best effort yet.
Christofer Barkensjö quits the band shortly after the recording of “Devastation”. After a long, hard and effortless search of a replacement, Jonas returns from the dead to once more take charge over the battery.
2003 began with the departure of original bassist, Rob Rocker. Serpent Obscene wishes him good luck in his future endeavours.
