Band biography

The Swedish black metal band Setherial was formed in late 1993. In 1994 they recorded their first demo "A Hail To The Faceless Angels". In 1995 they signed a record deal with the Austrian label Napalm Records and also recorded their debut album entitled "Nord", released the following year. 1996 was also a year of many line-up changes but in 1997 the band recorded their second album "Lords Of The Nightrealm" in Hellsound Studios. The release was followed by a short European tour together with In Battle and Malignant Eternal.

In 1998 the band recorded their third album "Hell Eternal" at Abyss and after this the band decided to take a break since the members wanted to concentrate on other activities. "Hell Eternal" was released in 1999, almost a year after it was recorded. In 1999 more than half of the band's rehearsal equipment was stolen and they were forced to stay inactive for a while until everything had been replaced.

During 2001 the band started rehearsing more frequently once again and the following year they recorded their fourth album "Endtime Divine" at Abyss Studios. On April 7th, 2003, their final album for Napalm Records was released, featuring old and previously unreleased material. Setherial have now signed a new deal with the Swedish label Regain Records.
