Band biography
Seven Tears photo
In 2000 the two thirteen year olds Jonathan Carlemar (guitars) and Fredrik Lager (vocals) decided to form a band called "Demonslave", heavily influenced by power metal giants such as Helloween and Hammerfall. They joined forces with Niklas Lindahl (bass) and Richard Harbrecht (drums). The band struggled to reach people but the real break for the young band came when they found female vocalist Elin Johansson who joined while Fredrik stepped down to handle bass duties. A new drummer was also found in Michael Sjöö (Spearfish) and keyboardist Martin Rydlund also joined the fold. The band name was now changed to Atlantica.

In October 2005 the new band released their eponymous debut demo which received a very positive review in the renowned Swedish Rock Magazine. They also did a live show at the small Skirö Festival. Rydlund was soon replaced by Kristofer von Wachenfeldt (Platitude, Neon Diver) and the band began looking for a new lead singer as Elin parted ways with the band. During 2006 the band played two live shows with different vocalists, Tommie Andersson and Madeleine "Madde" Svensson, but Tommie moved to Stockholm and it didn't feel right with "Madde" at that point.

The remaining quartet began working on new material in a very different musical direction, blending progressive metal į la Evergrey and Queensr’che with melodic AOR in the Journey vein. They decided to change their name accordingly and became Seven Tears and recruited vocalist Zoran Djorem. The debut demo "The Story Unfolds" was recorded in November and in April 2007 they signed a contract with the Italian label Frontiers Records. Their debut album was recorded at Teknik Kompaniet Studios with producer Peter Lundin.
