Started in 1995, Morphia developed from a death-metal band
into a symphonic doom-metal band. They recorded five songs for their
demo-cd ‘Poison Minded’ in 1997. A few hundred copies were sold and the
band became known in the Dutch underground.
In 1998 Morphia recorded their first full-length album ‘Unfulfilled
Dreams’ at the famous Harrow Studio in Holland. This album was released in
January 1999 and Morphia found suitable distribution for it. This time
Morphia became known worldwide and until today ‘Unfulfilled Dreams’ is
selling well.
The vocalist/bass-player left the band and it took a long time to find
a suitable replacement. At the end of 2001 Morphia finally started the
recordings of their second album ‘Frozen Dust’. It was released in 2002
in cooperation with the Fear Dark label from Holland.
During the years Morphia played with many famous bands like After
Forever, Altar and Saviour Machine. The band played in clubs and festivals
in Holland and Germany and with ‘Frozen Dust’ nothing can stop them now.
