SEX MUSEUM is heavy duty rock and roll. They started playing in 1986, and have published nine albums, and 12 singles. They've been featured on tribute albums to the DICTATORS and REAL KIDS as well as several compilation albums released in the United States and England.
Their energetic performances and intense songs make SEX MUSEUM a great band to see live. They've toured extensively throughout Europe playing hundreds of concerts and festivals. SEX MUSEUM have shared the stage with the biggest national and international bands.
In 1994, they were the openers on the DEEP PURPLE tour in Spain. They were headliners at the Esparrago 95 rock festival, playing with SONIC YOUTH , and in 1996 they were headliners with Killer Barbies at Esparrago Chico in Jerez, Spain. During that same year they also played the Festimad Festival for more than 8,000 people. They've also been featured in international festivals, like Beat-o-mania, which is celebrated in Munich, Germany, every year. In November 1997, after almost 8 years of non-stop, exhaustive touring, they decided to leave the stage for a while and focus on their music in the studio. Band members also started working on other projects.
The result is 11 songs featured on their album 'Sonic'. It has a fat guitar sound, big Hammond organ, raspy vocals, and pounding bass and drums. It's definitely something you'll want to check out for a rockin' time.
December and January of 2000, Sex Museum went straight into the Box studio to put down on one record all their past experiences and their new musical wonders. What comes out is the long awaited Sonic recording.
The Sonic album represents a whole new beginning for Sex Museum. Sometimes you can find a total havy Metal sound and others you're hearing their old characteristic style with a new twist using a variety of registers.
In the summer of 2001 after a year on tour to present Sonic, Sex Museum starts recording SpeedKings in The Kirios Studios- Madrid-.
The majority of the record except the voice and some guitars was recorded live which gives it a very high potency and a dense electric atmosphere.
SpeedKings is as savage as their live concerts but also creates moments of great intensity.
Their personal mixture of Hard Rock, Garage, and Psychodelia keep them miles ahead of the music reality in Spain and at the same time makes them one of the most interesting and original sounds of 2001-2002.
In 2002 and 2003 they twice tour Germany, Austria and Switzerland with She male Trouble and Crime Kaisers and develop their two drummers show in several festivals, sharing stage with Backyard Babies and Fu Manchu, working all the while in a new project: a live recording.
This live recording has just been issued under the title of "FLY BY NIGHT", listening to these sixteen songs is the best opportunity to get close to the powerful real sound of Sex museum.
Sex Museum are: Fernando Pardo - guitar and vocals/ Miguel Pardo - vocal/ Marta Ruiz - Hammond y Sequencer /Pablo Rodas - bass/ Robby "Loza" Lozano- drum.
