The Swedish glam act Shotgun Messiah was originally formed in 1982 in Skövde under the name Shylock. They later on changed their name to Kingpin and eventually, after a relocation to Los Angeles, California, they became Shotgun Messiah. They also toned down their earlier image with extreme 80s haircuts and fishnets. In August 1993 the band was down to a duo of Sköld and Cody and they now pursued a more industrial influenced sound. The band didn't reach the level of success they felt necessary to continue though and they soon broke up. In 2000 Sköld resurfaced as the new bass player for avantgarde superstar Marilyn Manson.
