Band biography Upload photo
The female fronted German hard rock band Skew Siskin was formed in Berlin in the early 90s by front woman Nina C. Alice and guitarist / producer Jim Voxx. They were quickly picked up by Giant Records and received praise from all over Europe for their debut album. In 1993 a tour with Accept, Sargant Fury and Hittman followed as well as a few Christmas show with Motörhead. Unfortunately Giant Records went out of business, leaving Skew Siskin legally tied to their US distributor Warner Bros. until 1996.

Finally free from their first contract, the band created their own label called Monongo and released the sophomore album "Electric Chair Music" as well as the EP "Voices Of War", featuring band fan and former touring mate Lemmy guesting on vocals. The band's loyal fanbase grew even more and the band signed a new contract with the Cultural Minority label for the release of a new album in 1999, an album Lemmy contributed some lyrics to.

Touring found Skew Siskin on the road supporting UK heavy metal veterans Saxon as well as headlining their own German tour during September and October 2000 with support from Skeletor. As if this wasn't enough Nina attended every show of the Motörhead tour to perform "Born To Raise Hell" on stage, a track that Lemmy had originally composed for Skew Siskin. As the band had finally picked up the pace again a new setback hit them as Cultural Minority also went out of business, leaving them in exactly the same situation as after the release of their debut album, this time with the German company SPV until freed from the distribution contract in fall 2003. During this period Alice Cooper and Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson) helped them out.

In September 2002 Skew Siskin opened up for Anthrax and Motörhead in the UK, followed by support dates on Motörhead's German tour in November the same year. A year later they released a new album entitled "Album Of The Year" via Ulftone Music. In March 2004 the band went out on a new headlining tour, including dates in Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain. In early April they had to cancel the final three shows since Nina had collapsed after the show in Vienna, Austria, and had to be taken to a hospital.

On September 5th, 2004, Lemmy of Motörhead returned Nina's favors by joining Skew Siskin on stage for the very first time at the Columbiahalle in their home town of Berlin where he did vocals on the song "Boogey Man". In early 2005 the band underwent some line-up changes, recruiting a new bassist and drummer. During May and June 2007 the band once again went out on tour with Motörhead for a tour throughout France and Luxembourg.
