The San Antonio based thrash metal band Slayer was formed in the early 80s. The breakup of the band some time between 1985 and 1988 lost them the battle of their name between them and the Los Angeles based band Slayer who have since gone on to great success. The two Slayer's even did a show together in San Antonio in the winter of 1985. They only released an EP during their lifetime while their full length album was released posthumous in 1988 by Chris Leibundgut, a longtime supporter of the band. Both are hard to find.
