Soundgarden photo
The American grunge band Soundgarden was formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984. They signed a deal with the Sup Pop label and released their debut album in 1988. A label change soon followed to A&M Records. On April 9th, 1997, it was officially announced by the label that the successful band had finally split up.
