The history of Spazmosity is an obscure journey into different currents of the underground metal scene. All members have had a lifelong interest for music in general and the metal genre in particular, and it is on this common musical ground the whole concept of the band is based.
The foundation of Spazmosity as it is known today was laid when two guitarists - Björn Thelberg and Mikael Lamming - in the fall of -94 formed a cover group called Made of Iron. The songs performed initially by the group were Iron Maiden covers. As time went by the band also began to write songs of their own. This production came, as time went by, to occupy the central role in the musical repertoire of the band. The initial years saw many changes in the line-up as the band persued their way to a sound that felt right.
As time went by many concerts were played and the line-up began to take a more solid form. Acke replaced the original drummer, and Peter Emanuelsson eventually took over the vocal parts from the former singer Sistonen. During this time the band played gigs with, among others, Vinterland, Amon Amarth, Lobotomy and A Canorous Quintet and was very active in arranging concerts themselves. During this time the music became both faster more brutal until the band was well within the boundaries of death and black metal, although the melodic parts so distinctive for the band remained and does so even to this day.
Slowly, but steadily, the reputation of Spazmosity grew. The fanzines began to notice them and interviews spread as far as Japan and Singapore. In February 1997 the first demo, The Fading of Life, was released. At about the same time Spazmosity was featured on a compilation CD called From the Underground (X-tream records, x-tr 005) with the song "Beyond the Gates of Slumber". The next demo, Brought back from the Grave, was recorded at Necromorbus Studio and released early in 1999. Micke Nordström had now replaced L-E on bass, and some time later Jesper Enander took over the drums from Acke, whose academic studies forced him to move. This line-up worked out so well so that it remains intact until the present day.
Sporadic gigs followed of places such as Cafe 44 and Pub Anchor in Stockholm, and some in other cities such as Gothenburg, together with bands like Stormrider, Immemorial, Watain and Godhate( Ex. Throneaeon). In Februari 2003 Spazmosity released their latest demo Storm Metal. Once again the band used studio Necromorbus and producer Tore Stierna. It features three full length songs and one melodic intro. It is by far the bands greatest achievement to date, and it has been highly acclaimed both in reviews and at live concerts.

In February 2004 the band parted ways with their drummer Jesper who had recently become a father. He was replaced by Marcus Jonsson (Pandemonic, ex-Genocrush Ferox, ex-Flagellation, ex-Mortuary, ex-Mortifer). However, Marcus was soon installed as the new drummer of Swedish death metallers Insision and decided to focus on this. Spazmosity was put on hold until February 2007 when they found a new drummer in Dimman (Nocturnal Damnation, Cryptic Art).
