Conceived with a passion for true and soulful heavy rock,
Spiralarms is born! Avoiding the cliches and corporate blandness that
suffocates the art, this band is a breath of fresh air to real music fans
as well as their peers and critics alike. Inspired by the great classic
rock of the past and a handful of modern pioneers of today, Spiralarms
will help pave the road for tomorrow's music with unconscious soul and
freedom. Rock should never be safe.
Craig Locicero (guitar), James Walker (bass), and Steve Jacobs (drums)
are formerly of the critically acclaimed band Manmade God (self-titled
American Recordings). Quoted to having the best rock album of 2003,
MMG, was paralleled to Pearl Jams (Ten) as well as Bad Company's (Bad Co.)
and Led Zeppelin's I, among other classic debut albums. High
expectations and big shoes to fill, the unfortunate hand was dealt when MMG's
singer (Pann) became disillusioned with the business and decided to walk
away. The split was amicable and official in April 2004. Craig, James,
and Steve were compelled to finish what they started.
With the mindset, the original intention was to replace "the old" with
"the new"! Craig already had someone in mind, Tim Narducci formerly of
Systematic. Tim was already an accomplished songwriter, singer, and
guitarist who had acknowledged his love and respect for what MMG was doing
and was at an impasse in his own band. Tim and Craig had known each
other since they were two wide eyed kids with their own visions and big
dreams. Without even getting together once before, Craig knew this could
definitely work to both parties advantage. A call was placed to Tim and
the idea was greeted with optimism. Ironically Craig asked Tim to jam
seven years earlier, but the time wasn't right yet. A couple of phone
calls and a few years later proved to be perfect.
"I walked into the rehearsal room and was floored. These guys have the
most unique, from the heart, and powerful sound I have ever stood next
to. I had to make music with these guys, I had to be a part of it,"
Narducci reveals. With that first night a magical infusion was realized.
Locicero states, "It always seemed to me like Tim had so much more to
give musically than he was showing, untapped potential. This was just a
gut feeling, I think its still safe to say we underestimated him, he
brings so much more than I imagined, the perfect compliment to the three
of us!" No more Manmade God, no more Systematic- moving forward is
Spiralarms.
Tim actually achieved quite a bit of success and acclaim in Systematic
with two albums "Somewhere in Between" and "Pleasure to Burn"
(Elektra). He already was a take charge frontman for the band, warming up for
such acts as Metallica, Godsmack, Staind, Disturbed, Ozzfest 2001, Cold,
Slipknot, Stonesour, and Jagermeister 2003 among others. Combine that
with MMG touring with Seether, Saliva, Powerman 5000, Taproot, Adema,
Ra, Doubledrive and more- Spiralarms already have a live fan base that is
ready to greet them out on the road as soon as that day arrives in
their town!
With "Sol Musik" as a demonstration of what a few months of rocking and
great chemistry can do, the members of Spiralarms are more focused and
wiser than before. With their past behind, and a clear future ahead,
it's very evident that these guys have unfinished business to attend to.
