From the beginning Stairland was a band inspired by Meshuggah. The original line-up of Martin Karlsson, Martin Dahl and Markus Friberg recorded a two-track demo. Later on a drummer called Henrik Stenbäck joined the band and they started playing music with more industrial influences, computer samples etc. A four track demo was recorded and later on led to a record contract. The band's current status is unknown (they were active in May 2003).
