Superjoint Ritual photo
Superjoint Ritual is a side project involving several well known musicians on the Louisiana metal scene. Their music is influenced by a wide array of bands such as Black Flag, Righteous Pigs, Celtic Frost and Voivod just to mention a few. Their bass player is the grandson of country music legend Hank Williams. The band existed already in 1997 as Phil Anselmo spoke about it in an interview with Metal Hammer that year but they didn't release their debut album until the year 2002.
