The idea for The 11th Hour was conceived in 2007 when Ed Warby (Gorefest, Hail of Bullets) and Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader, Edge of Sanity) met at the forum of online metal magazine Global Domination. The two made plans to do a doom metal project together. However, the plans were slightly halted when Ed joined Rogga's new death metal act Demiurg. Step by step they did however create some doom riffs for their side project. In December 2008 a contract was signed with Austria's Napalm Records.
