The Blood Divine photo
The Blood Divine is a dark gothic metal band that was formed in the autumn of 1995 in Colchester, UK, by several members who used to be part of Cradle Of Filth. Their debut album called "Awaken" was released on the Peaceville label on September 2nd, 1996. At the end of the year they toured Europe as support for My Dying Bride. They were also voted as the best new band in the annual reader´s poll of Terrorizer Magazine. In early 1997 they went on a headline UK tour and this year they also appeared on several European festivals. In May 1997 they recorded their second albun, yet again with producer Pete Coleman, and it was released on October 13th. The band was focusing more and more on the heavy guitars and on the 14th of April 1998 they announced that they had therefore parted ways with the keyboards player Benjamin Ryan. On the 5th of May the band announced that they had once and for all split up. Two new bands were said to evolve The Blood Divine but nothing further has been heard from them.
