Thin Lizzy photo
The legendary Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy was formed in Dublin in 1970. When backing a singer named Ditch Cassidy in their home town one night, Frank Rogers of Decca Records was to be found in the audience as he was thinking about signing Cassidy. He was instead very impressed by Thin Lizzy's performance and signed the band in November 1970. A tour was soon to follow with the bands Arrival and Worth and the band relocated to London on the British mainland. The band name was inspired by "Tin Lizzy", a popular comic book character of the time. They broke up in 1983, suffering heavily from drug and alcohol problems within the band.
