THORNAFIRE was born from the meeting between Antonio Acuña and Víctor Mac-Namara. The original idea took shape in 1998 with their help of some friends of some local bands.
In the begining of 1999, THORNAFIRE has the following line-up: Antonio Acuña (vocals), David Liempi (guitar), Alexis Muñoz (bass & vocals), Víctor Mac-Namara (guitar) and Víctor Vergara (drums). This line-up recorded "Granted for all somberness", their debut demo tape, sold across Chile and South America, Some copies were sent to underground metal scene of Europe, and with this demo the band made his first appearance in the media, with good response from the Underground Scene.
And with this line-up, the band made his first tour across Chile.
In the summer of 2000, Víctor Vergara and David Liempi left the band, due to musical differences. The joins Eduardo Díaz (Devilish) in the drums, in order to rehearsal a new MCD ”Mortus Tenebræ Surrectus”.
In June of 2001, THORNAFIRE teams up with Skull Crusher Records in order to record ”Mortus Tenebræ Surrectus”, including 6 new devastating songs, plus a Atomic Aggressor cover. The MCD was recorded in the SADE studios, with Juan Pablo Donoso (Sadism) as a producer.
Right now the line-up is completed with Andrés González (drums from Dominus Xul and Silentium) and Alejandro Lizana (guitar from Dominus Xul). Currently the band is playing in local shows, waiting for a good deal to show their music overseas.
