After several years of being unable to find likewise musicians, guitarist Danny Hove Jensen decided that he wanted to form a band consisting of serious and skilled musicians. In August 2003 he started jamming with a local drummer, they soon recruited a bass-player and the three of them started to put together material for an upcoming CD. They decided that they wanted to add a second guitar-player to the line-up, and they soon found one but, he only stayed in the band for 14 days so the band continued the search for a lead guitar-player. Signar Petersen (ex-Mercenary, ex-Behind the Curtain) was the man they were looking for, actually Danny had been talking to Signar about doing something together a couple of years earlier but it didn’t happen until February 2004. Soon after Signar joined the band things started to roll, but due to personal and musical differences the band had to split with their current drummer. They tried out a couple of drummers but it didn’t work out, so the band started to work on new songs at Danny’s home studio. In June 2004 they recruited a new drummer, everything seemed great and the songs were starting to take shape, but due to personal differences Danny and Signar had to part with the drummer and also the bass-player. During the next couple of months Danny and Signar continued to write new songs and they also recruited René Pedersen as their new singer.
The trio decided to record a demo but they still needed a skilled drummer, so they contacted Signar’s former band-mate Brian “Brylle” Rasmussen (Mnemic, ex-Behind the Curtain) to hear if was interested in recording the five songs on the demo, he agreed and in November the band entered Apole-studios to record the five-track promotional CD. The recording process was a co-production between the band and Morten Sandager (Mercenary, ex-Behind the Curtain) and Casper Skafte (SmaXone). After three weeks of hard work the band had the final result and was very happy with the way everything had turned out.
The band still needed a name and the members hadn’t been able to agree on any of the names that had been suggested. So Danny made a new list of suggestions which included the name Transparent, and everyone thought that it should be the name of the band. In May 2005 Transparent printed a couple of hundred promotion CDs which were send out to record-labels, magazines etc. in the hope of getting a record-deal, critical-acclaim and world domination.
