Viking was one of many thrash metal bands in California in the late 80's. The band was formed in Los Angeles in the spring of 1986 and held the same personel until the band broke up in 1990. The band signed a record contract after completing their second live appearance and then went on to record two albums and open up for bands like Megadeth, Forbidden and Sacred Reich as well as headlining many other shows. The band actually had a six album deal with Metal Blade Records but since Ron and Matt has recently become Christian believers they felt that it would be best to leave the band and the band was no more. Ron and Matt moved to Oregon, Brett joined Dark Angel and James pursued a career in art.
