The American thrash metal band Wargasm was formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985 under the original monicker Maniac. After a name change and some demo recordings they signed a deal with Profile Records' subsidiary Rock Hotel, run by Chris Williamson who dealt with punk and metal bands. After about six months he was let go by the company but Profile decided to keep all the bands. They did release the album but that was about it and the band never received any money whatsoever from the label. Needless to say their cooperation was over. In the summer of 1991 Wargasm went on an extensive one month tour in Europe in support of New York's Biohazard. Their second album was released by the German metal label Massacre Records in 1993 but two years later the band called it quits. In 2003 the band reunited and on September 18th, 2004, they played at the Middle East venue in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
