Wyvern was formed in the summer of 1994 by the two guitarists Jonas Berndt and Andreas Sjöström. Petter Broman joined the band shortly afterwards,filling the vacant position on bass. After trying out a few drummers the band finally stabilised with Micke Henriksson filling the empty seat behind the drums. This formation of the band rehearsed and wrote songs and late in the summer of 1995 they started recording their first demo. The band asked Albrecht Märchenstoltz, a classmate to Andreas and Petter at Täljegymnasiets
music education, to handle the vocals. The demo titled "March of Metal" contained the songs: March of Metal, Victory or Death, Without a Voice, Iron in the Night and Like Dogs Climbing up the Moon. Unfortunately it was delayed due to technical problems and wasn't released until the beginning of 1996.
