New York, NY, September 4, 2008 – Roadrunner Records announced today the upcoming new album from multi-platinum rock powerhouse Nickelback. The band is currently recording the follow-up to 2005’s massively successful All The Right Reasons with famed rock producer Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard) in their homebase of Vancouver, B.C. The album is set for release on November 18, 2008. The first single, “If Today Was Your Last Day” will impact at all radio formats on September 30th.
Roadrunner and Nickelback have enjoyed unprecedented success during their ten-year partnership. The band has sold upwards of 26 million records worldwide, with All The Right Reasons accounting for 10 million of that total. In addition, the six singles from the album totaled 9.3 million downloads and 5.5 million ringtones. All proceeds of digital single and video sales for the song “If Everyone Cared” between February 1 and July 31, 2007 were donated to charity, equally distributed between Amnesty International and International Childrens’ Awareness Canada. Each of the five videos from All The Right Reasons has reached #1 on VH1’s playlist: “Photograph,” “Savin’ Me,” “Far Away,” “If Everyone Cared” and “Rockstar.” In 2006 Nickelback was awarded a World Music Award for “World’s Best Rock Group,” a Billboard Touring Award for “Breakthrough Artist,” an American Music Award for “Favorite Pop/Rock Album” and a People’s Choice Award for “Best Rock Group.” Both Roadrunner and Nickelback are looking forward to the start of a new album cycle and future success together.

| Oceano book studio time |
2008-09-05
Newly signed Chicago, IL deathcore act, OCEANO has confirmed that they will be heading into the studio this October to record their debut album with producer Joey Sturgis (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, MY CHILDREN MY BRIDE) at The Foundation Studios in Connersville, IN.
With an increasing reputation for being a highly aggressive and dangerous live act, OCEANO guitarist, Andrew Mikhail promises to bring all the anger that they possess on stage into the studio and capture it for all time when making their album in October. "We're gonna turn our anger up a few notches for this record. If that means we have to throw chairs at the mixing booth glass and tear the studio to bits to get us there - so be it." Alongside songs that have long been a part of OCEANO's set like "Samael The Destroyer" and "Inhuman Affliction," the band plans to record many new songs that will surely smash the very limits of what "heavy" is. According to Mikhail, "There's a lot more going on musically with the new material." The imposing OCEANO guitarist promises that new songs like "Disgust For Your Kind" will be "faster, darker and a hell of a lot more heavy." Most importantly, he states that everything will "stay true to the 'OCEANO sound.'" OCEANO's debut album is due for release in 2009.
| Exilia sign with AFM Records |
2008-09-05
The past few years have been quite silent in the camp of the Crossover institution Exila, but now they come up with some sensational news.
The Italian modern metal act has recently signed a new deal with AFM Records and have just finished the recordings of the yet untitled new record. "We can tell you in advance 'it rocks!' We are all very excited and I can tell you, that this album will be the heaviest record so far since the birth of Exilia", says front lady Masha Mismane. "We managed to 'unleash' even more hidden talents of our great guitarist 'Alien' and with the return of our great drummer 'Ale', there is no lack of power! After a lot of hard work on melodies and lyrics over the past year, I'm also very pleased with the outcome of my vocals! There are definitely unique elements within every song. I wanted to give them an edge whilst maintaining the original and true characteristics of 'Exilia'. The mixing of the new album starts this week in LA so as you can imagine we are extremely excited to hear the end results soon. I can honestly say, I can't wait to perform these songs live for you guys to enjoy! Rock On!" Some of the songs will be produced by Dave Chavarri from Ill Nino, while Christhian Machado is singing on the album along with Masha. Expect the unexpected, the album is scheduled to be released by the end of October.

| Tank guitarist to guest on Chinchilla album |
2008-08-30
I thought it would be a good idea to inform you about the work on our new CD "The Prophecy".
I have loaded the pre-production from our song 'Bloody Sacrifice', from our new album 'The Prophecy', down on our www.myspace.com/chinchilla999 side. We will introduce every week another song, partially in shortened form, to afford you an insight into our new musical work. We wish you a lot of fun with the new songs. But don’t forget, this is not the final mix, this is only a pre production by myself. Achim Köhler (Primel Fear, Brainstrom, a.s.o) will start with the mix, in the end of September. As Guestmusicians: Cliff "The Riff" Evans (www.myspace.com/cliffhound), lead guitarist with legendary metal bands TANK and KILLERS, has finished his work on the track Bad Guy and we where all full with enthusiasm. Cliff's opinion about the song Bad Guy: The Bad Guy track sounds great. It really kicks ass. It's a real honour to be playing on it.I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. Tom Naumann (Ex Primal Fear, Sinner) has finished his work on the track “Unknown Heroes”. Tom’s opinion about the new CD: I feel honoured that I was allowed to contribute to the new Chinchilla album with a few solos. Go buy the CD and go see the band live - but don't forget: be excellent to each other and bang that head that doesn't bang. All the best Udo
| Cradle To Grave forced to cancel tour |
2008-08-28
The members of Cradle To Grave have been forced to cancel their recently announced tour of the West Coast after the group was detained by the US Department of Homeland Security for suspicion of either sneaking drugs in or attempting to seek work illegally, despite the fact that the band had valid working papers in thier possession. The band was detained for more than 5 hours at the Blaine, WA border facilities, where bored security agents strip searched one of the members, and refused to listen to the band members' own account of why they were there.
Singer Greg Cavanagh was held for four hours, then refused entry to the US because of suspicion of "rampant drug use, voluminous encounters with prostitutes and satanism" after the border agents reviewed the band's MySpace page. At one point, guitarist Denis "Sasquatch" Barthe was held at gun point by 5 officers. He was asked to lay down on the ground, was handcuffed and returned to Canada in a U.S. Border Protection vehicle. After almost five hours of screaming, door-slamming and accusations, the rest of the band was asked to return to Canada. Last year, Cradle To Grave were refused an entry visa allegedly because the State Department felt their name might "incite violence" and this after they were allowed to tour in 2005. However, in 2002 & 2004 the band were refused entry to the US due to an alleged "lack of artistic merit". Cavanagh commented: "Contrary to popular belief, the US doesn't welcome all foreign musicians with open arms," he chuckled sarcastically. "We regret to say this, but the tour is over before it even started. Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to bring us down there for the shows we had booked. We'll hopefully have better luck next time and be able to play for all you crazy West Coast metalheads." Cradle to Grave recently released their new album “Texas Medicine through Year of the Sun Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Devin Townsend (Lamb of God, Darkest Hour, GWAR) and hailed by the Vancouver Straight as "the soundtrack of choice for your trip to the electric chair." The band is currently streaming tracks from the album online at www.myspace.com/cradletograve.
