Founded in 1989 they released 7 albums by now, paving the way of Death and Thrash Metal in France along with other pioneering bands like MASSACRA. Outstanding albums like "Machinery" - all on the harsh edge between Thrash and Death Metal - and several tours and concerts with bands as MASSACRA, NILE, SINISTER, MOTÖRHEAD and EDGE OF SANITY plus festival appereances at Summer Breeze (GER) among others sealed the status of No Return. "Manipulated Mind" will be out on September 19th - expect nothing less than the new Trash/Death Metal masterpiece! THE VERY END The next passenger we welcome on board are Germany-based Melodic Death Metallers THE VERY END: With their powerful blend of heavyiness, groove and melody THE VERY END already got overwhelming reactions from both the Metal press and fans. They were named "Demo of the Month" in German Metal Hammer! Several live shows as support for bands like EXODUS, PRO PAIN, ONE MAN ARMY & THE UNDEAD QUARTET or DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER left the amazed crowd with open mouths and buzzing ears. Now THE VERY END have completed their debut full-length album and present a masterpice of finest Melodic Death Metal. Guitars flying like arrows, oldschool solo parts and bone-crushing Death Metal vocals combined with sophisticated melodies - Vs.Life is a mature, heavy, monolithic metal moster and will be out October 24th! SECRET SPHERE And last but not least we are happy to unseal the signing of of SECRET SPHERE: "If an Italian band manages to stay on the Roster of an European Major Label for more than three albums, they have more to give than the usual Rhapsody or Labyrinth citations", quotes Rock Hard Megazine about Italian Power Metal outfit SECRET SPHERE. Dockyard 1 is happy and very proud to have them on our list now! SECRET SPHERE go back further in the history of Heavy Metal and credit bands like HELLOWEEN, BLIND GUARDIAN and SAVATAGE as their biggest influences. The band manages to honour the heritage of such big names while creating their very own brand of Symphonic Power Metal. Their album "Sweet Blood Theory was mixed and mastered by Achim Köhler (Primal Fear, Sinner) and will make every Power Metal freak's heart beat faster with exitement! Out October 24th!
| Winds Of Plague part with drummer |
2008-08-20
|
|
WINDS OF PLAGUE are currently decimating the weak across North America as part of the “Thrash and Burn” festival that also features Darkest Hour, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Stick To Your Guns, Arsis, Abigail Williams, Arsonists Get All The Girls and After The Burial so feel free to hit http://www.myspace.com/thrashandburntour or www.myspace.com/windsofplague to view their complete tour routing.
The group just acrimoniously parted ways with Jeff Tenny (drums) and will remain on the “Trash and Burn” tour as drummers from other bands on the tour lend them a helping hand. Johnny (vocals) checks in with his thoughts on the situation: “WINDS OF PLAGUE as individuals have been hit very hard recently by a very selfish act committed by our long-time drummer, Jeff Tenney. We are disgusted and very disappointed in his actions. However, we as a band are not going to let this slow us down. A few drummers from the tour have stepped up and are helping us to finish the remainder of the ‘Thrash and Burn’ run. We are currently on the search for a new drummer.”
| Luna Mortis enter studio |

Wisconsin based metal band LUNA MORTIS are slated to return to Audiohammer Studios, FL on Sept. 1st to finish recording their debut Century Media offering. Producer Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Trivium) will be at the helm for the record.
This will be the band's second trip to Audiohammer this year as LUNA MORTIS spent time recording with Suecof in February of '08; laying down tracks originally conceived for a demo. The tracks are unreleased with the exception of one song, “Ruin,” that has been uploaded to the band's MySpace and will become a part of their new album. Head over to www.myspace.com/lunamortismusic now to check it out. Mary Zimmer (vocals) had this to say about returning to Audiohammer: “We're so excited to be returning to the studio to work with Jason. He's a phenomenal producer and we adore working with him. The songs we recorded in February that we originally wanted to release as a 4-song demo, turned out better than anything we've done so far in our career. We've decided to put them on our debut record for Century Media and we're returning to Jason to finish the album starting September 1st. For the demo we did in February, we did pre-production on the 4 songs with a wonderful producer named Don DeBiase who's worked with bands like Forever in Terror and Beneath the Sky. We aren't sure if we'll be able to coordinate schedules with him to do pre-production on the remainder of the album, because September is right around the corner, but we are 100% confirmed to start recording with Jason on the 1st. We did release one song from our February session for streaming only on our myspace page. It's called ‘Ruin’ and we hope you like it. We can't wait to finish the album and bring some more metal to you all!"

The hard rock world is about to get a nice, swift kick in the ass as the Seattle-based sonic force Duff McKagan’s LOADED, led by the current VELVET REVOLVER bassist, has returned after a lengthy hiatus with their much anticipated, new full-length release. The quartet has signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records and a five song EP, Wasted Heart, will be issued in September in conjunction with their upcoming European headlining tour.
Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/loadedlamf to check out the new track, “No More,” (from the Wasted Heart EP) and to view new webisodes (shot by King of Hearts Promotions) featuring exclusive footage from the studio, along with interview segments. McKagan, having carved out a place in rock 'n roll history selling millions of albums with the legendary Guns N’ Roses, requires no lengthy introduction. However, with LOADED he gets a chance to further show his songwriting prowess and versatility assuming the role of vocalist/guitarist. This is an all out assault of pure rock and punk infused fury that pulls no punches. McKagan further comments: “We are truly looking forward to this partnership with Century Media. I am encouraged that they indeed understand the spirit and integrity of LOADED. This first EP should shed some light on who we are, what we do and how the fuck we do it!” DUFF MCKAGAN’s LOADED Headlining w/ locals 08/22 Hell’s Kitchen – Tacoma, WA (All ages, early show) 08/22 Hell’s Kitchen – Tacoma, WA (21+, late show) 09/02 Viper Room – Hollywood, CA

Dino Cazares (guitars) further comments: “We are beyond stoked to have Travis on board with us and we immediately knew that he was the perfect guy for the job. He definitely has the range and stage presence to make him one of the genre’s most lethal vocalists out there and the new material we are writing is going to smoke our debut. It’s more brutal, faster and pissed off, so you better start preparing yourselves now. Until then, we went ahead and re-recorded “Bleed The Fifth” with Travis and it’s just a little taste of what this guy is truly capable of so enjoy and we will see you soon.” Upcoming Shows all headline shows except * Sep 7 2008 *DINO’S BDAY BASH @ Whisky A Go Go, West Hollywood, California (Asesino, Divine Heresy, Devolved, Dark Sun and very special guests!) | Enslaved sign with Nuclear Blast |
2008-08-19
|
|
Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce the signing of Norway’s ENSLAVED for the North American territory. Founding member & guitarist Ivar Bjørnson shares his thoughts on the new partnership:
“The U.S. and Canada have become increasingly important territories for ENSLAVED with their increasing sales and feedback from the fans and the scene both within and outside hard-line metal. The two tours we did in 2007 proved our live show qualities to the scene, and the scene proved its dedication to us. We are therefore extremely happy to be working with Nuclear Blast – a formidable force in the record industry. Having met members of the U.S. staff on several occasions, we know that their dedication and professionalism will take ENSLAVED a great step further. Vertebrae is by far our strongest album, one that we are extremely proud to present to the U.S., to Canada, Mexico, and all other territories. We are very pleased to present it in tandem with Nuclear Blast.” Possessing the reputation as one of the very finest live acts in metal, ENSLAVED members knew their latest studio offering for 2008 had to contain the very best material to showcase the pinnacle of their signature Viking/progressive black metal sound. In no uncertain terms, Vertebrae easily meets that incredibly high level of expectation. Recorded in the first quarter of 2008, mixed by Evil Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age), mastered by the legendary George Marino (Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin) at Sterling Sound, Vertebrae was produced by Ivar Bjørnson, Herbrand Larsen, and Grutle Kjellson themselves. Considered by all band members to be their strongest album in the seventeen years of their existence, Vertebrae’s sound, songs, seasoned guitar tone and time-travelling solos, and overall atmosphere marks a crowning achievement for the band and the genre as a whole.

“After a gruelling recording, mixing and mastering process during the early summer ‘Dead Harvest’ was finished. However we are not entirely satisfied with the final mix and we believe it doesn't do the album justice.
Rather than release something we are not 100% behind we have chosen to take a break and go back to re-mix and re-master the album. The most important thing is to put out a killer album. We apologize to our fans who have been waiting for ‘Dead Harvest’ all this time, all we can say is that it's worth the wait! Currently the release has been pushed to somewhere around February 2009.”

| Glasgow Grin sign with Year Of The Sun |
2008-08-19
|
|
Glasgow Grin has signed with Year of the Sun Records for the release of their upcoming debut album “Saints of the Greatest Sin”. Glasgow Grin’s debut is expected to surface in October 2008 and was recorded at Frozen Solid Studios with producer Matt Connell (Ex-Exhumed, Fuck the Facts) and mixed by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me). The group has posted new songs online at www.myspace.com/yearofthesun
"We're excited to be a part of the Year of the Sun family again. They've grown in leaps and bounds since we first signed Dear Black Diary to the label a few years back," commented Glasgow Grin frontman Jordan Shortt. "When Glasgow Grin was created, it was our goal to avoid all of the mistakes that we made while in Dear Black Diary. Essentially, DBD was a huge learning experience that allowed us to mature and grow. Glasgow Grin is a fresh start for us and with our debut full length we feel we’ve put together an extremely focused project that we feel reflects our growth as musicians. It was very important to us that we come out of our corner swinging this round, and “Saints of the Greatest Sin” packs a powerful punch”. Glasgow Grin has also revealed that “Saints of the Greatest Sin” will be a concept record based around a serial killer who murders pedophiles. The album artwork will be based around the concept with the liner notes containing an eight page short story. “This time around we decided to create an experience that combines music, writing, and artwork into one cohesive tapestry and the result is something that we are proud to share with everyone. Themes throughout the album vary from justifiable homicide to religion, and the album is based around the story of a young man on a murder spree fueled by his faith in God,” says Shortt about the concept behind the group’s debut. “The relationship that the main character shares with God is meant to display how confusion in ideology can create hypocrisy, embracing the Lord on one hand and breaking commandments on the other.” GLASGOW GRIN TOUR DATES: Aug 20 2008 Charlettetown, PEI @ Back Alley Music Aug 21 2008 Halifax, NS @ The Pavillion Aug 24 2008 Montreal, QUE @ Cafe Chaos w/ Tears from the Sky Aug 25 2008 Toronto, ONT @ Sista Neavoux Aug 26 2008 Hamilton, ONT @ TBA Oct 04 2008 Windsor, ONT @ The Coach and Horse
