| Unearth finish new album |

Influential metal quintet UNEARTH has completed work on its new album. Entitled ‘The March’, the record is scheduled to drop on October 10 (D/A/CH/I), October 13 (rest of Europe) via Metal Blade Records.
The European version of the album will include an exclusive bonus-DVD that will only be available on the Euro version! Will come in special packaging as well. More info on this soon... ‘The March’ was recorded at both MA’s System Recording Studios and Zing Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz. The album is said to feature UNEARTH’s “most dynamic material to date,” combining strong tension and release, abundant guitar solos and a bulldozing power-groove. On the topic of the new album, UNEARTH front man Trevor Phipps states, “‘The March’ symbolizes both the evil and hopeful sides of humanity. The Evil: With the constant balancing act of power within government, religion and our financial institutions, there lies the chance of those most hungry for power to alter and restrict our freedoms for their gain. The Hopeful: This represents the faith in mankind as the most powerful force on the planet. If we come together and do not fight over religion, class and borders then we hold the key to a peaceful world. There are two possible futures in store; either a March of power and greed or a March of a unified human race.”

“Hello all!
It's that time once again! CATTLE DECAPITATION now entering the studio to record the next album! We enter Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA tomorrow to start working on our fourth Metal Blade full length! We'll be doing the drums with the mighty Zach Ohren (All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth) and then over to Sharkbite studios to record the rest and mix with our man Billy Anderson. This is going to be devastating, we promise. The new material is over the top. The lyrics, as hateful as ‘Karma.Bloody.Karma’ but much more disgusting this time around. We'll be announcing the name of the album, song titles and cover art when we have completed the recording! Details on that, studio reports and fly on the wall footage in the studio coming soon!”

| Poropetra sign with Open Grave Records |
2008-08-05
Finnish band Poropetra have signed on with Open Grave Records for the North American release of their debut album, "Sinihirwi". Poropetra features members, Juha Jyrkäs (throat-singing, 12-stringed kantele, distorted kantele-effects), Markus Ylikoski (guitar, backing vocals), Leo Herranen (bass, contrabass, backing vocals), Hittavainen (Korpiklaani) (violin, jouhikko, torupill, keyboards, mandoline, flutes and pipes, mouth harp, backing vocals), Lari Hammarberg (drums, percussions, backing vocals), Elsa Pardonen (vocals), and Nancy (vocals).
Poropetra is ancient Finnish and it means the same as Elk of Hiisi (Hiiden hirvi in Finnish) from the Finnish mythology. Elk is an old totem animal of Finno-Ugrian and Siberian peoples, thus it describes so well Poropetra's unique ethnic fusion music, combining together Finno-Ugrian myths and legends, Finnic kantele- and runo-singing traditions, Tuvan throat-singing, world music, psychedelic rock, blues and heavy rock. Poropetra was founded by Juha Jyrkäs in 2002. Kuuraparta and Hittavainen joined soon after. The first demo, "Poropetra", was self-published in 2004. It represented an almost pure modern Finnish folk sound. After the demo, the band wanted to electrify the sound and bring in some more influences. It took two years to record the new songs for "Sinihirwi". After many long recording sessions, Poropetra's debut album, "Sinihirwi" was self released in July of 2007. Now a little over a year since it's original release, "Sinihirwi" will see it's North American release this fall via Open Grave Records.
| Anael sign with Paragon Records |

Paragon Records is proud to announce the signing and the release of the latest album of Germany's Anael, entitled From Arcane Fires.
Anael have released two prior albums on the Barbarian Wrath label, in addition to limited vinyl editions on Iron Tyrant Productions, both receiving worldwide acclaim by critics as well as fans. Described by Diabolical Conquest webzine as "An unholy synthesis of Xantotol/Taranis/Holy Death-esque despondency, the transcendental otherworldliness of first two album Rotting Christ/early Tiamat, the Mesopotamian exoticism of Absu and Melechesh, as well as a substantial dose of Blood Ritual/Ceremony Of Opposites Vorph/Xy magic," Regarding Anael's latest album, From Arcane Fires, guitarist/vocalist Seraphackh states "While it's predecessor On Wings Of Mercury" was a journey deep into the realm of the occult, From Arcane Fires is a little more direct, more rooted in history and personal experiences of a gloomy reality. This means not only the lyrics but also the music of our third album, and it was the main reason to choose a harsh, dark and epic approach for this monument. From Arcane Fires is aimed to show the darkness and the fire forming the foundation of our spirit and so of our music, and to set a sign that some flames will never be extinct." From Arcane Fires is due out early Autumn via Paragon Records.
| Lazarus A.D. sign with Metal Blade Records |
2008-08-05
Metal Blade is proud to announce the signing of Kenosha, WI’s Lazarus A.D.! Originally known simply as Lazarus, the band has been pummeling audiences with their brand of modern thrash since the spring of 2005. Have no doubts that Lazarus A.D. is a thrash band, but merely in attitude as their sound is no simple throwback to the 80s bay area sound. They breathe a breath of fresh air into modern thrash with intelligent, memorable riffs, mid-tempo grooves, and high-flying solos. In January of 2007, the band recorded The Onslaught with Chris Djuricic (Soil, November’s Doom, Michael Angelo Batio) at Studio One. James Murphy (ex-Death, Testament) handled mastering duties and is now re-mixing the album for its worldwide release via Metal Blade Records.
“We are extremely stoked about being a part of the Metal Blade family. It is a great home for us, and we know together we are going to accomplish everything we have set out to do and so much more. When the record is released, I don't think we are gonna see home much, we plan to tour for pretty much the rest of our natural lives!” Lazarus A.D. “With the growing number of young aggressive thrash bands rising up across America, we were struck down by the sheer brutality and innovative sound of Lazarus A.D. We brought James Murphy onboard to mix the new album as Metal Blade gets ready to unleash the onslaught that is Lazarus in early 2009.” Mike Faley, Metal Blade Records Lazarus A.D. will be opening up for Testament at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI this Friday, August 1st. Lazarus A.D. is: Dan Gapen - Lead Guitar/Vocals Jeff Paulick - Bass/Lead Vocals Alex Lackner - Rhythm Guitar Ryan Shutler - Drums
| The Rotted part with bassist |
2008-08-04
THE ROTTED are to part company with bassist Wilson. New priorities in his personal life have made it apparent that he'll no longer be able to commit 100% to the upcoming plans and fast-moving future of the band, therefore he's taken the decision to step down as bass guitarist.
Says Wilson, “It is with some sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Rotted. I’ve been with these guys through thick and thin for over 6 years, and had some of the best times of my life! When we reformed as The Rotted, the process was simple, that everyone would be firing on all cylinders in the same direction – I always said if my other commitments in life would hinder this, then I would step down for the greater good, and it is clear that this time has come! My last show with the guys will be at the Wacken festival – we play on the Wet stage on the Friday afternoon, so come down and raise a horn with me! I´m incredibly proud of what I have achieved with the guys, and the release of ‘Get Dead Or Die Trying’ and the Wacken fest is finishing on a real high, what more could anyone ask for?” THE ROTTED will continue full steam ahead with 'business as usual' and they will announce a new bass player after Wacken Festival.

| Meliah Rage reunite with original singer |
2008-08-04
Throughout the course of their career, Meliah Rage has refused to let line-up changes derail or silence the mighty metal quintet from Boston, Massachusetts. And the group continues to live by this rule, as they've just announced the re-entry of the group's original frontman, Mike Munro. After singer Paul Souza exited the band late last year, a six-month search for a suitable replacement began, which led to a dead end. That is, until producer Rich Spillberg suggested that they should contact Munro, and get back to their roots. After being out of Meliah Rage for over a decade, Munro is back for more, joining band mates Anthony Nichols (guitar), Jim Koury (guitar), Darren Lourie (bass), and Stu Dowie (drums).
And in a twist of fate, the last Meliah Rage release to feature Munro, 'Death Valley Dream,' was recently remastered, with its release – July 29th (yesterday) - coming right on the heels of the announcement of Munro's return. To mark the album's reissue, a rare, never seen before video from that record is currently being re-edited, and will be posted on the band's website and Myspace page in the near future. Additionally, the Munro-fronted Meliah Rage is currently working on a new record with producer Spillberg (who has worked with everyone from Steel Assassin to Josh Grobin), at Red Devil Recording in Stoughton, MA, and should be on store shelves by early 2009. Keep your eyes peeled for the next phase of Meliah Rage, which promises to be one of their best yet!

| Bleeding Through sign deal with Nuclear Blast |
2008-08-03
Orange County Modern Extreme metallers BLEEDING THROUGH have just inked a Europe-wide license deal with Nuclear Blast for their upcoming fifth full-length album "Declaration". Nuclear Blast A&R Jaap Wagemaker about the brand new signing: "For four albums BLEEDING THROUGH have established and continuosly evolved their own style that no one ever managed to adapt or achieve. We are very proud that BLEEDING THROUGH have finally joined the NUCLEAR BLAST family!" Vocalist Brandan Schieppati about the new co-operation: "BLEEDING THROUGH is very excited to be a part of the Nuclear Blast team in Europe. Nuclear Blast is a label that all of us have supported for a long time, and which has shown a strong interest in our band, holding a roster with many bands that we respect and listen to on a daily basis. We are quite pleased that Trustkill was able to come to an arrangement to license "Declaration" to Nuclear Blast for Europe, which is an extremely important part of the world to us. We look forward to working very hard together with Nuclear Blast to make this album heard." According to Schieppati ""Declaration" will be heavier than its predecessor. I think it bridges the gap between "The Truth" and "This Is Love, This Is Murderous". The melodies are darker, the riffs are heavier. We just wrote a really aggressive record that encompasses everything we've ever tried to do as a band and then raised the bar a notch or two." Watch out: "Declaration" will be released on September 26th!
