Only a few month after bass player and founding member Daevas left SECRETS OF THE MOON, now also guitarist A.D. quits the band. A.D., who had significant influence on the songwriting for the band's latest album "Antithesis" (2006), explains his decision: "Due to my all-dominant negativity I cannot extract a single good aspect from representing my music live on stage any more. Thus the time on the road has been horrible for me. After I hit rock bottom the last time I decided to stop it all."
S.O.T.M. mastermind sG finds himself distress in view of the situation: "I feel like a shadow these days. Humble, yet having the will to appear more potent than ever when all this struggle is endured one day. A.D.'s leaving is comprehensible for all people involved in the band, still it hits us with an intensity which consequences are not foreseeable yet." Still he forcefully denies rumors that the SECRETS OF THE MOON have split up or will do so in the near future. | |

DIN BRAD (English: "from the fir tree") is a new musical project of Negru, drummer in Negura Bunget, and is dedicated to a direct exploration of Romanian musical, spiritual and landscape heritage. Thus, it is all about folklore, but in a modern, yet authentic and personal approach.
Negru specifies his thoughts behind DIN BRAD: "I feel I'm one from not that many people with a deeper understanding on what the local traditional culture is, or was... And there are some areas of those that I always felt connected with. Those are the parts I'd like to explore with DIN BRAD. It's about the shepherds communities and their practices and beliefs, about the traditional way of understanding the cosmos and the close surroundings, about the wisdom of the simple people..." The first DIN BRAD full length album is tentatively scheduled for spring 2009. | |

An update from Savannah, Ga.’s KYLESA: “It's been a while since our last update so here you go: We've been writing a new record over the past few months and we're about to head to the Jam Room studio on Monday [July 21] to begin tracking. We're excited to record a new album since it's been two years since we recorded ‘Time Will Fuse its Worth.’ It's hard to believe it's been that long! The CD will be released on Prosthetic Records in early ‘09 and the vinyl version will come out around the same time. Phillip [Cope, Kylesa guitarist/vocalist (Baroness, Black Tusk)] will be producing the record. We'll send a few updates and photos from the studio.”
In other KYLESA record news, Red Cobalt Industries is producing a very limited alternate CD version of ‘Time Will Fuse its Worth’ for a Japanese release. The packaging was totally re-designed by Laura and is loaded with extra things including a poster of the "Double Skull" tee shirt design by John Baizley (Baroness, Darkest Hour, Torche, Skeletonwitch) and a sticker by Santos. It will be a sort of matchbook digipack with foil stamping and metallic inks. It should be in production very soon, and more details will be available soon. Once released, KYLESA plans on touring Japan for the first time, playing shows with Birushanah, Coffins, and several other bands. More details will be available as they are confirmed. Most recently completing a string of dates co-headlining the East Coast with The Ocean, also featuring Lair of The Minotaur and labelmates Withered, KYLESA’s last release was ‘Time Will Fuse Its Worth,’ which saw a fall 2006 release through Prosthetic. The band also contributes a version of Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” which will appear on a forthcoming Syd Barrett tribute album that will soon see release through Dwell Records. | |
| M.A.N bass player rushed to hospital |

M.A.N bassplayer " Rob" was rushed urgently to the Hospital (Östra Hospital) in Gothenburg/Sweden on Wednesday afternoon. Rob was diagnozed with "acute pancreatitis" which was a complication after a gallstone surgery that Rob did earlier during the week.
Acute Pancreatitis is life threatning, and the rest of the M.A.N guys are shocked and sad by the situation. Rob is under good supervision and is under heavy painkilling medication. | |

“About two weeks ago our singer Justin decided to part ways with the band. He wanted to go onto better things such as school and work. There are no hard feelings between any of us and we wish him the best of luck.
Recently we have found a replacement. His name is Drew Winter. He has been our good friend for many years and will have no problem fitting right in. He has been in bands such as CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE and DEBELLO CASTRUM. In a week or so we will be releasing brand new material with our new vocalist Drew. Hungarian Metal institution Ektomorf are happy to announce that they have recently signed a new deal with AFM Records. "It's a great new chapter and we are very happy about it", says lead singer and founder Zoli. So far 13 new songs are written "We will enter Antfarm Studio in Denmark from November 1st and record the new album with Tue Madsen. The new songs are groovy and heavy down tuned."
Some of the songs will be called "Love And Live", "I Can See You", "What Does Not Kill, and Makes Me Stronger". "There will also be some special guests like Lord Nelson from Stuck Mojo and Mille Petrozza from Kreator. "You can expect a very strong and punchy new Ektomorf album", Zoltan says. The album will be released in spring 2009, followed by a European headliner tour, lots of festivals and a possible US tour. | |

While you may have been distracted by the reunion of AT THE GATES, the brothers Björler have continued to work hard with the rest of THE HAUNTED to create a new masterpiece. The album has been finished and the band is excited to announce Versus, which will hit streets in October!
The band comments: "So we're about to let people outside the box start peeking inside. The album we've come up with is one we decided to call Versus. Pretty much it's turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for! We decided to record the whole album live, and add vocals and solos once we had the songs down with the right energy and groove. "Like always, Peter confused the hell out of everyone by presenting 25 ideas almost a year before we were even going to record, but later calmed the mood by explaining it was mostly to inspire and provoke. It worked. Anders and Jonas started dropping CD's of scatterbrained ideas and mixed riffs and we started digging; Anders bringing industrial and melodic ideas to the table, and Jonas traditional metal roots. Initially Jensen felt he didn't know where to go with it. He told Peter, 'All I come up with is grind...' So what?! Then write grind riffs! It's all gonna sound like THE HAUNTED in the end anyway. Pete told him, and shortly after Jensen started pounding us with typical, simplistic, Jensen trademark riffs. "So what does it sound like? Definitely THE HAUNTED: Great songs, catchfire-riffing, hooks catchier than herpes on a biker slut, explosive groovy beats and lyrics as sharp, dark and dripping sarcastic bile like someone who just got back from Hell with a bone to pick. "It's safe to say we're really looking forward to letting this bastard sink its fangs into your minds. Ladies and gents, it's clobbering time!" | |
