El Caco sign with Indie Recordings
2011-11-16
Indie Recordings is proud to announce the signing of EL CACO for the release of their new album, "Hatred, Love and Diagrams," out January 27th 2012 in Europe and January 31st in N. America.

EL CACO has been an institution and a well kept secret in the Norwegian music scene for the past decade, but look for that to change with "Hatred, Love and Diagrams."

The band's music is a culmination of three very talented individuals, each with a very eclectic taste in music. Inspired by the best, but never stripping themselves of their own unique identity, they have the rare ability to grasp the finer elements of their influences and mould them into their own diverse sound.

On their new album, EL CACO push the envelope even further than they have done before. Having explored the melodic aspects of rock and metal for more than a decade, this album shows us yet another side of this multi layered band. With an organic and natural sound the trio displays true musicianship and great song-writing skills on this 10-track album which is their definitive peak, their Opus Magna. It sounds more like a band than most other bands. A true organic unit moving fluently with the songs, expressing the underlying emotions through their instruments in a way we know from the greater bands of history.

Blodarv to release new compilation
2011-11-16
Danish Black Metallers BLODARV have reached an agreement with the Slovenian underground label Nigrum Serpentis Production, for the release of a retrospective compilation that will cover ten years of the band’s history. The ten-track CD will contain various tracks from BLODARV’s pro-releases, including the bonus track “Six feet Below As She Wished For Death” which was originally written in 1996 and up to now has only been available on the first BLODARV demo “Murder in the Name of Satan”. The album is set to run for 60 minutes and comes with a twelve-page booklet containing lyrics (the band writes in both Danish and English), photos and fan art which detail the history of BLODARV, whose founder and front man Hugin lives on Bornholm, an island steeped in history and myths and legends, and whose music takes its listeners on a journey along dark paths peopled by powerful demons, haunted souls, tragic destinies and chilling dreams.

Track listing for “A Demon’s Diary” as follows:
1. Under Satans Vinger
2. Daemonstormens Tid
3. Power Of A Soul
4. Where The Beast Dwell
5. Those Who Speaks In Minds
6. Heksen Nitiria Amlech
7. Sealed In Black With Silver Stars
8. Beyond Life
9. Langt Vaek Fra Livet
10. Natteskarn

*Bonus track: “Six Feet Below As She Wished For Death”

Despite an accident which smashed Hugin’s jaw and left him unable to either sing or perform live for most of 2011 while it healed, the vocalist has nevertheless been busy. Work has been progressing well on BLODARV’s next full-length album, and the band featured two previously un-released tracks on the “Shadows of Tragedy” compilation which was released on Self Mutilation Services in September of this year. Hugin himself has been working on two further projects, one being the 7” “Laesaabobbainjnj” EP from his side-project SANSÂGER for which a release date has still to be set, and the other a collaboration with Norwegian musician ELENYX (COMBATH), along with Sweden’s IT (ABRUPTUM, VONDUR, OPTHALAMIA), on the new album “Heksevind” from her NÅE project. With their frontman now once more fit and well, BLODARV will mark their return to the stage with a gig at The Rock in Copenhagen on the 26th November, supporting Germany’s ENDSTILLE.

Cvlt Nation noted: "TOXIC HOLOCAUST have given fans a record that they will be able to devour now and for fucking years to come," while The Onion's A.V. Club added: "sweetly redolent of thrash, d-beat, and raw sewage, the album simmers with tar-thick riffage, staggering breakdowns, and a corroded dose of self-loathing. If this is what TOXIC HOLOCAUST’s next decade is going to look like, bring it on." The Washingcity Paper agreed: "...it’s refreshing to hear a thrash band that is so single-minded about its whirlwind riffs and pastor-baiting lyrics."

Conjure And Command is out now internationally and available across several formats including a limited edition, deluxe CD and DVD set that includes a full TOXIC HOLOCAUST live show. The album is available for purchase through Relapse HERE and iTunes HERE. In addition, Conjure And Command is streaming in its entirety at THIS LOCATION.

Man Must Die drummer joins Zillah
2011-11-16
Drummer Matt Holland (ex Man Must Die) has joined underground Scottish extreme band ZILLAH. Alongside Matt, the band has announced the additions of a new guitarist, Rob Coverdale who joins existing members Roddy Anderson (Vocals/Guitar) and Tim Rasmussen (Guitar).

Matt commented: "I'm looking forward to working with ZILLAH, a band that has stuck to its guns regardless of trends and now feels like the right time to be involved. With the addition of new members, the skill level is through the roof and some of the patterns and structures involved in the newer material present a challenge that I'm really excited to take up.”

The band has released practise room footage of Matt working through new material from their forthcoming album which can be viewed on their Youtube account.

ZILLAH released the critically acclaimed album ‘Substitute for a Catastrophe’ in 2006, (currently available via Relapse Records) before going on hiatus due to line up issues. With the new line up in place the band has written an album worth of material and will enter the studio shortly to record. A demo track is available to listen to here.

Zillah have the following upcoming shows:
19th November – Anstruther, Scotland, Legends Bar (with Scordatura)
20th November – Glasgow, Scotland – 13th Note (with Co-Exist)
15th December – Edinburgh, Scotland – Sneaky Pete’s (with Cancerous Womb)
1th March – Edinburgh, Scotland – Bannermans (with Fleshgod Apocalypse)

Accept announce new album title
2011-11-16
ACCEPT’s fifteen year break from the music business only served as a distant warning to the 2010 thunderous return of ACCEPT to the metal forefront. Sweat soaked, table-sized club shows and triumphant appearances at the biggest rock festivals around the world created an excitement long not seen in the metal community. It was only natural that ACCEPT’s comeback album Blood Of The Nations entered the charts at #4, the band’s highest entry in their legendary career! In addition, Blood Of The Nations charted high in countless other countries and cemented itself at #1 in many Reader Polls for a continuous 14 months! Accolades like “Album of the Year”, “Metal Anthem of the Year” and many more kept pouring in. The fans, in admiration of their heroes, flocked in the thousands to their notorious live shows, and Nuclear Blast, their record company, was salivating with satisfaction!

Inspired by their fans’ awe-inspiring reaction to their explosive live shows as well as the grandiose success of the comeback album, the band is now excited to jump right back into the studio and record another collection of heavy metal classics. To be called Stalingrad, the new ACCEPT album is scheduled to be released via Nuclear Blast Records in the spring of 2012. It will once again be produced by English star producer Andy Sneap who has long become a part of the ACCEPT family.

As the saying goes… no rest for the wicked! Following the release of Stalingrad, ACCEPT will continue their unstoppable, Teutonic Terror in 2012 and beyond, invading stages from North to South, from East to West, leaving all nonbelievers in their metallic dust!

Book of Job sign with Wormholedeath
2011-11-11
England's Book Of Job has signed a deal with Wormholedeath/Aural Music Group.

On January the 9th the band will enter Realsound Studio in Parma (Italy) with producer Wahoomi Corvi (Crysalys, The Way Of Purity). Wormholedeath will release their debut album titled "Hamartia" world-wide through Aural Music Group.

Release date is due during the winter of 2012 and will be announced at the end of the current year.

Lead Vocalist, Kaya Tarsus stated : "We are very excited to join the Wormhole Death roster, we have been given the opportunity to spread our music world wide and with the help of the Wormhole Death team we will achieve this. We have been working hard writing our debut album and we cant wait to hit the studio in January to begin the recording process. When we return to the UK we will be looking to play as many shows as we can, our aim is to showcase our own brand of metal thats gonna make you jump out your seat! Prepare to get BOJ'd! "

Wormholedeath's A&R WORM stated: "When I first heard of this band from Wahoomi of Realsound Studio I was quite impressed by their demo, but when the guys sent me the new songs and the album-concept I definitely thought that this was going to be one of the best releases ever unleashed by an english band! We decided to sign the deal immediately to avoid that any other label could notice them. Imagine the attitude of Botch, with extremely controlled vocals and drum patterns, calibrated ultra violent hardcore explosions everything melted in a modern and claustrophobic sound in the vein of Comeback Kid or Shai Hulud. Yes, that's the way it is and it's fucking impressive. We have been working hard, closely with the band, to make sure that these guys will have what they deserve. This one is going to be one of the best albums we ever released on Wormholedeath, keep your eyes on Book Of Job, this is serious music."

Trollfest to enter studio
2011-11-11
Work is set to begin this month on the fifth full-length album from TROLLFEST, the band that has eschewed musical convention by combining local folk sounds from their native Norway with those from the Balkans, and mixing them together with occasional melodies that could originate anywhere from the Latino countries to the Middle East, and topping it all with head banging metal and a generous dose of humour, in order to form their own genre of “True Norwegian Balkan Metal”. The band will enter the Strand Studios on the 7th November to spend three weeks in the company of engineer Marius Strand to record drums, bass, guitars and main vocals, and then move on to their own “Trollskogen Recording Facilities” to record the extra vocals, choirs, and instruments. Updates on the recording, including photos and video, will be available on the band’s blog at http://trollfest.blogg.no/
The album will be called “Brumlebassen” and as with all TROLLFEST’s previous releases will tell a story involving Trolls and a certain amount of drinking. Without wanting to give too much away at this early stage a spokesperson for the band said that the storyline will revolve around a brewer called Brumlebassen who is charged with making the mead much beloved by the Trolls. Cover art for the album will once again be in the hands of Swedish artist and cartoonist Jonas Darnell and designer Terje "Andy Wartroll", both of whom have worked with the band for several years, and whose work on the band’s last album “En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral” has yet again proved to be a huge hit with the fans and an integral part of the overall TROLLFEST “experience”.
The band, which comprises members of URGEHAL, PANTHEON I, UNTIME, MELCH, SARKOM, HALLUCINATIONS and POWERSWORD has already written ten metal tracks and a handful of acoustic ones, and will decide which to include on the album once recording is completed. There will also be guest musicians, who will be announced at a later date. “Brumlebassen” is set for release early next year on NoiseArt Records and then TROLLFEST plan to expand on this year’s live appearances during which the band has collected a whole set of new fans who have found themselves caught up in the band’s musically skilled and infectiously fun-filled performances.

Tiago Della Vega fastest guitarist once again
2011-11-11
Tiago Della Vega smashed the record again. Live at Cannes Festival he played "The Flight Of The Bumblebee" at 750 bpm, breaking the previous 600 bpm record. The show was realized by Orange Amplifiers and Intel corporation. During the event Tiago played again the famous Korsakov piece with which all the guitarists in the world compete from years to prove their speed. This time Tiago was by far the fastest (and the cleanest) in his performance, leaving the audience open-mouthed.

Cadaveria to release new album
2011-11-11
Bakerteam Records is proud to announce the addition to its roster of
Horror Metal sensation CADAVERIA. The band was formed in 2001 by dark queen Cadaveria on vocals and Marçelo Santos (aka Flegias, frontman of Death/Thrash legends Necrodeath) on drums, with the intent to create a virtual space to freely express themselves as musicians and extreme
artists. In the following years they released three albums that gained
enormous praise from fans and critics worldwide.

CADAVERIA long-awaited new effort follows up the 2007’s ‘In Your Blood’
(released on French extreme metal label Season Of Mist) and is described by Mistress Cadaveria herself as “the most obscure, raw and horror-filled work ever produced by the band”.

This full-length will see the light in early 2012 on Bakerteam (publishing by Wormholedeath). More exciting news about the album title, artwork and contents will be released very soon.

A new era of horror and darkness has begun!

Bleeding Fist lineup update
2011-11-11
Today, Slovenian chaos black metallers BLEEDING FIST have announced the departure of drummer Lexecutioner. "Soon, new details regarding the line-up and the new era of BLEEDING FIST will be known," reads a statement from the band. In other BLEEDING FIST news, the band will release in December their first live album, entitled Bestial Black Metal Over Berlin, via Haliaetum Records (www.haliaetumrecords.com) and licensed by MORIBUND.

BLEEDING FIST released the Devil's Ferox MCD this past May through MORIBUND to rave reviews. The MCD comprised five brand-new songs, including a tribute track to the legendary Death SS, and also include an enhanced portion featuring videos for "Invocation Into Devil's Flesh" and the EP's title track.

Gojira sign with Roadrunner Records
2011-11-11
New York, NY: Roadrunner Records announced today the addition of French metal behemoths Gojira to the label. The band is universally recognized as one of the most talented and extreme art-metal acts on the scene today. Gojira is one of those rare bands that comes along every couple of years and takes everything you know about metal, twists it, reimagines it and comes up with something wholly unique. It's doubtful you've heard anything like Gojira before. The band makes that much of an impact with its music and approach.

Gojira are comprised of vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier, who has a previous relationship with Roadrunner, having played bass on Cavalera Conspiracy's debut Inflikted, along with guitarist Christian Andreu, bassist Jean-Michel Labadie and drummer Mario Duplantier, who is also Joe's brother!

"We are so stoked to walk with the legendary Roadrunner," Joe said about the new partnership. "We discovered Sepultura, Machine Head, Death, Fear Factory and so many other great bands thanks to these guys. Roadrunner has been a great source of inspiration for us as metal fans. It's an honor to be part of this family today as a band. We feel we'll get the right support at the right moment in our career. We cannot wait to release our new record and get back on the road."

The band's Roadrunner debut will be its fifth album overall. It was 2005's From Mars to Sirius and 2008's The Way of All Flesh which established Gojira as a metal force of nature and a key player in the scene. The band will record in New York City, also the label's headquarters, in November 2011, with a spring 2012 release date being eyed. Joe Duplantier will serve in a co-producer capacity along Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God).

“I’ve been a huge Gojira fan ever since their monumental From Mars to Sirius album and have been actively pursuing them ever since," Roadrunner Senior VP of A&R Monte Conner said. "I am thrilled to finally be welcoming them to the Roadrunner family. Gojira are one of the best bands in metal today, with a sound and style all their own. Their live shows are unreal, from the level of playing, to the intensity, to the Godzilla like stomp that hits you in the chest."

Gojira have kept busy in between albums. They recently recorded the four-song Sea Shepherd EP, with all proceeds from the EP benefiting the Sea Shepherd charity. Sea Shepherd is a Washington-state based non-profit marine conservation organization which employs direct action tactics to protect sea life. One of the songs, "Blood And Salt," recently surfaced on a Metal Hammer UK sampler CD. Release details on that EP, which is loaded with A-list metal guests like Mastodon's Brent Hinds, Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe, Soulfly’s Max Cavalera and Strapping Young Lad's Devin Townsend to name a few, are yet to be determined.

In other Gojira news, the band will perform as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival, which is slated for February 2012.

Psycroptic album details revealed
2011-11-11
Aussie technical death metal outfit, Psycroptic, has announced that its fifth studio album, The Inherited Repression, will hit stores on February 7th in North America and February 10th in Europe. The upcoming nine-track full-length will mark the band’s second release on Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented Psycroptic guitarist, Joe Haley, “The Inherited Repression is far and away my favorite Psycroptic album thus far - all of us in the band think this. It’s the age-old cliché from bands when they talk about their current album as being the best of their career, blah, blah, but I have to say it because it’s true. We wouldn’t think there is a point of going on if we couldn’t outdo each album prior. We are certainly not playing music for anything else than the love of creating it and performing it.

“The Inherited Repression is quite different from anything we have done in terms of song writing and structure, and we spent a lot longer writing and demoing the songs before we recorded it, which you can tell. It’s a very dynamic album - the fast elements faster, the slow elements slower, and a lot of light and dark binding it together. It’s a very catchy album as well - you can tap your foot, bang your head or anything else you want. Basically it has a lot of groove on it from start to finish.”

The track-list for The Inherited Repression is…

1. Carriers of the Plague
2. Forward to Submission
3. Euphorinasia
4. The Throne of Kings
5. Unmasking the Traitors
6. Become the Cult
7. From Scribe to Ashes
8. Deprivation
9. The Sleepers Have Awoken

The Inherited Repression was produced, engineered and mixed by Haley, while Alan Douches will handle mastering duties.

“We had the luxury of recording in my home studio without deadlines, so we spent a long time on getting it how we wanted. We can’t wait for people to hear it, and get out and play the songs live!”

Psycroptic is…
Jason Peppiatt - Vocals
Cameron Grant - Bass
Joe Haley - Guitars
Dave Haley - Drums
