Farsot have finished recording their upcoming album "insects." The follow-up to "||||" was produced under the aegis of Markus Stock in Studio E / Mellrichstadt. This time, you are going to be faced with a topical framework that is more real than you can ever wish for.
The track-list of "insects:"
1. like flakes of rust
2. empyrean
3. perdition
4. 7
5. adamantine chains
6. the vermilion trail
7. withdrawal

At the moment the finishing touches are being put to the layout and the different formats, a task that will be completed in the coming weeks. Further information on the album will follow in the near future.
Finnr's Cane sign with Prophecy Productions
2011-01-31
With their atmospherically gripping debut album "Wanderlust," the Canadian band Finnr's Cane have recently fascinated and enthused lovers of wintery soundscapes somewhere between mighty offshoots of traditionally grim Black Metal and sublime Post Rock. This unusual trio which replaces the bass guitar with a cello is going to take its unconventional musical jaunts supported by Prophecy Productions in the future, as the musicians have signed a contract on five albums.
In their intuitive, epic tracks, the musicians of Finnr's Cane intertwine bitter-cold riffs with gorgeous melodies, Black Metal frenzy with ambient-like atmospheric rock, only following their infallible instinct for exciting soundscapes far from well-worn paths. All these features will be apparent in April, when a new edition of the rarely available "Wanderlust" with enhanced artwork will be released. After that, the band is going to concentrate on recording their second album. May the wild songs of Finnr's Cane invite all those who are adventuresome on an ecstatic trip through scenarios of snow and ice that are as impressive as they are deadly, a trip that you won't be forgetting soon...!

2011-01-31
The third and last chapter in funeral doom band Colosseum's history shall be released in Finland on 9.3., in honour to the memory of band's frontman Juhani Palomäki (R.I.P 1977-2010), who was found deceased only a few weeks after the recordings. As the remaining members of the band state:

Montreal, QC natives, BARN BURNER, are getting ready to head to the studio to record their follow up to Bangers, their critically acclaimed Metal Blade Records debut. The band has been touring and working on new tunes for upwards of two years now, and are hungry to lay down the new tracks.
Vocalist/guitarist Kevin Keegan has offered up the following update: "We have been itching to get back into the studio and record what we have been working on for 2 years now. The new tunes are fiercer but still catchy enough to show to your dad. Excited to work with Adrian Popovich at Mountain City again and drink all of his shitty coffee. Basically, this new record will just give us more excuses to drink beer and play shows."

Bonded By Blood involved in accident
2011-01-31
The members of BONDED BY BLOOD are all doing fine after a van accident that had occurred this past weekend. Bassist, Jerry Garcia updated fans on the situation with a statement written on his Tumblr page (http://moreworldsthanone.tumblr.com/):
"We were on our way to Trenton, NJ and our trailer took us for a spin on the highway. We had a great gig last night and we were happy to finally get into the groove of things, unfortunately everything has come to a cold and dreadful stop. I was driving the van on our way to New Jersey when we suddenly skid across the road and nearly hit a wall. Unfortunately our fucking trailer flipped over and broke off the hinge!
As I was driving down the road the weather kept getting worse and worse. It was very difficult to see outside of our windows and the road was becoming one big sheet of ice. I could see the light from my headlights reflect off the pavement. I slowed down because I was afraid we would hydroplane. I was going about 40- 45 mph about two hours from the venue, listening to the song “Chase The Wind” by our friends band Holy Grail on my headphones, when suddenly I realized that our trailer was on a massive hydroplane completely adjacent to us. I kind of freaked out because I was afraid it would smash into the back of the van where Juan was sleeping. I laid off the gas and as soon as I did the trailer pulled the van and caused me to loose complete control. All I could say was “OH FUUUUCK!” I managed to narrowly miss the center divider and a few cars before we skid completely across the highway and almost hit the wall on the other side. We came to a stop about 3 feet from the wall!
It was a surreal experience to say the least. Something about listening to our buddy Luna (from Holy Grail) singing while we almost lost our lives just didn’t seem right. At least that is not how I would’ve expected to go. Everything happened so fast and my actions seemed automatic as if my instincts just kicked in and I did whatever it is I did behind the wheel without thinking about it. Im not superstitious but its kind of ironic that Mauro was listening to “Dying Season” by Heathen and the exit off the highway we took after all was said and done was named Moosic. Its like we exited music and in a way we did, for the night at least.
We will probably have to miss a few gigs until we can get back on our feet again and get some form of transportation for our gear. Our trailer is fucked beyond immediate repair. We will have to leave it behind and find something else to haul our stuff in. I just hope that our gear is fine and nothing was destroyed. I apologize to anyone that came to see us tonight or will come to see us tomorrow but our safety comes first. We have to get everything fixed and safe before we can go anywhere in this weather. We are extremely bummed that we will have to miss some gigs, this is DEFINITELY NOT OUR STYLE (To miss shows and disappoint our fans) but sometimes things get out of hand. Don’t worry guys, if we happen to miss your state due to this remember that our tour schedule is massive and we will be back in a few months! You guys should still go to the gigs and support Lazarus A.D. and the local acts that open up for them!
I would’ve been completely devastated if any of the guys got hurt tonight but thankfully we are all ok, hell were doing just fine! Alex is playing some video game on his PSP, Carlos is on the phone with some girl (I hope haha), Mauro is fucking around in the van and Juan is on his laptop like always! Everyone is in high spirits and in hopes that we can get on the road A.S.A.P! My team just won 2 nil and one of my favorite songs, Peace Sells But Who’s Buying, is playing on the Radio! Hahaha believe it or not Dee Snyder has his own radio station out here and here we are listening to it. Ahh its good to live to hear that song one more time!!!
Thanks for the well wishes guys, BBB will be back on the road in a little bit.
P.S. Fuck you snow, you can’t stop us!"

ZOMBI’s Steve Moore commented on the new album; “I think the album came together exactly as planned, considering we had no plan. In fact I'm not even sure we knew we were making an album. Textures enter studio
2011-01-28
Extreme progressive technical metal band TEXTURES have started recording their fourth album at Split Second Sound studios in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The album will be produced by TEXTURES’ guitar player Jochem Jacobs, who was also responsible for the production of TEXTURES' previous albums.
Jochem had the following to say about the new recordings:
"It's all really exciting! This album is really going to express where and what we are these days... and that's a good thing. We've been through a lot lately, especially the last year. Now with some new air and fresh ideas, we finally reached the point that we are actually quite confident in the new material. Sometimes you just have to crawl through the mud first to get to dry grounds. We are in the middle of the pre-production now, getting our asses in gear to create this baby. It's kinda cool to see this band grow more and more and to continue this musical journey that we've been on for 10 years! Let's make this thing heavy!!! "
A Fall 2011 release is expected through Nuclear Blast Records for the untitled new album. It is the follow-up to 2008’s Silhouettes.

Architects hit the UK charts
2011-01-28
ARCHITECTS are currently dominating the UK , entering the Album charts with a #35 Midweek position as well as currently gracing the cover of Metal Hammer magazine. Sam Carter (vocals) is also featured as part of this month’s Rock Sound magazine cover story. Still, not only their native UK is currently in favour of ARCHITECTS: They are also the cover stars of Germany ’s Fuze magazine.
Check out some raving quotes from the press:
“The positivity doesn't come at the expense of sonic aggression, however, and if “The Here And Now” has the potential to become a world-conquering modern metal opus it's firstly down to the songwriting - the great hooks that rise out of every track, from the balladry of Heartburn to the metallic grit of Year In Year Out. […] The Here And Now is destined to be one of the most talked about albums of 2011.” (9/10 Album Of The Month, Metal Hammer UK )
“… a brave move from a band determined not to atrophy through a lack of forward motion […] an album that ebbs and flows unlike anything this band have done before.” (4K Lead Album Review, Kerrang! UK )

Bonded By Blood announce new frontman
2011-01-28
In Fall of 2010, vocalist, Mauro Gonzalez stepped in at the last minute to front Pomona, CA thrash act, BONDED BY BLOOD through a long stretch of touring that only convened towards the end of the year. BONDED BY BLOOD bassist, Jerry Garcia states: "We would like to formally announce that Mauro Gonzalez is now officially the new frontman for Bonded By Blood. He has shown great promise and dedication in the past few months and we have received great reviews from many old fans, new fans, and well-established musicians throughout our recent North American trek. We are very excited about our decision and we hope that you guys welcome him into the BBB family like we have! See you guys on the killing road real soon."

Amorphis studio update
2011-01-27
Finnish melancholy rockers AMORPHIS are currently very busy to record the yet untitled follow-up to 2009`s „Skyforger“ which will be released on May 27th!
Here`s an update from guitarist Esa:
„Dear Fans,
A little updating on what's happining in camp Amorphis. The album recordings are aheading strict and smoothly (whatever that means...).
We are now working with vocals and again we have Marco Hietala producing Tomi. This time everything else has been done at Sonic Pump studios except vocals which are currently under work at Marcos homestudio in Kuopio.
We are coming out with roughly 15 new songs and for the album there's most likely going to be 10-11 tracks. It's again great feeling to start to realize that the songs and ideas which have been in our heads are finally going to see the daylight.
Pekka Kainulainen has worked really hard with lyrics. The album is going to tell the story of the most important character of Finnish mythology and folklore.
He is Finnish god Väinämöinen who was described to be an extremely poweful old wise man who had magical voice. Some believe that Väinämöinen was creator of the world, ancient hero and very influential shaman.
Having subject as strong as this it was pretty obvious that making music for the album was going to be a challenge. There are lots of musical elements which have been heard on previous albums but there are much more. Needless to say that we are keen to give all the material over to Mikko Karmila who is going to start the mixing at the end of this month.
Travis Smith is currently working with the album cover and the coming art looks so far no less than amazing.
