Dark Millennium Records has partnered up with Utah metallers SUCH VENGEANCE, to release their debut album "The Time is Now". Coming Tuesday, February 23rd to the DM Records online store.

Band Bio:
Such Vengeance is a five piece from Salt Lake City Utah. Highly contagious choruses help flush out the band's driving yet melodic sound. The debut album “The Time is Now”, has already received numerous positive reviews from both industry magazines and online media outlets. Recorded and produced at their own recording facility in Pleasant Grove, Utah by Josh Hone (Bass / Studio Engineer) and the band themselves, it's clear Such Vengeance is highly dedicated to their cause.

20 Buck Spin and Profound Lore showcase

20 Buck Spin announces today a joint label showcase at SXSW this year with our comrades at Profound Lore Records. The two underground metal labels have been friendly for some time and agreed that SXSW could use something beyond the usual suspects this year. Each label will bring three bands from their respective, constantly growing rosters. 20 Buck Spin will bring Brooklyn NY’s black metal futurists Liturgy, Providence, RI’s chaotic whirlwind schizos The White Mice and Toronto’s violence prone The Endless Blockade. Profound Lore brings a mix of new and veteran talent in the form of Indiana’s blackened doom bringers Coffinworm, Virginia amp destroyers Salome and Chicago scene vets Yakuza.

The show will take place on Friday March 19th at Headhunters Club located at 720 Red River Street in Austin. The show will be opened by two bands not associated with either 20 Buck Spin or Profound Lore at approximately 7 p.m. Those bands will be announced shortly. Additionally our long-time friend David D’Andrea has created exclusive poster artwork for the showcase.

20 Buck Spin has existed since 2005 and is based in Olympia, Washington. It is home to the above mentioned bands and others including Samothrace, Coffins, Laudanum, Stormcrow and more.

Profound Lore Records has existed since 2004 and is based in Toronto, Ontario. It is home to acts like Cobalt, Krallice, Bloody Panda, and Portal.

Breach The Void sign with Coroner Records

Swiss' Breach The Void (previously known as Etna) signed with Coroner Records for the release of their debut album scheduled on May/June 2010. Breach The Void born from the genial mind of the drummer Alex Anxionna (former Sybreed), who presents the forthcoming album as a glacial modern metal platter featuring a strong impact and dreaming melodies. The band just finished the mastering process at Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen (Dark Tranquillity, Mnemic, The Haunted).

Rob Zombie charts again

The album also takes the top spot on the Hard Music chart, arriving at #1. HELLBILLY DELUXE 2 has been winning praise from press and fans alike. The Basque Melodic Death squad released the following statement regarding the parting ways of DBO and guitarist Diego and furthermore about the progress of the works for their new album:

“… from the other side and in a more serious note, we would want to announce that we have parted ways with Diego (guitars). All the band members would like to thank him for this 5 years in DARKNESS BY OATH. We wish Diego all the best for the future projects and his soon to be second fatherhood. … We're trying to find a proper replacement for Diego as you read this. There are some candidates so far, but nothing concrete or definitive at the moment. We'd like to try the possible candidates first and be sure that they have what it takes. “…we are working on the new songs for our third album too. Aritz has done about four lyrics already and we'll try to see how they fit into the songs. The new songs are great to say the least, it's a fucking blast to rehearse new material. We can tell you that is gonna be more varied, fast and melodic stuff, so to speak. … We have uploaded a little preview of one song (Myspace) from our next album so you can listen to it! It is only half of the song more or less, and we can only say that it´s a simple base of the initial structure, so we´ve tons of work to do yet. … We have entered Auryn Studios last week, to record some previews of new songs and looks very well!!. We have 3 songs finished at the moment and a lot of ideas for 6 more and we expect to record about 11-12 songs for the new album.

On April 3rd a new chapter in Avantasia's history will be written. And what a chapter: Tobias won't just release another chapter in the history of Avantasia, but he will release two new chapters of Avantasia at the same time. And to quote the international music press that have had the chance to listen to the albums in the studio Avantasia will return with two real masterpieces. The albums will be called "The Wicked Symphony" and "Angel Of Babylon", they will be available separately as well as a 2-CD-boxset in a limited special edition. Rusted Dawn set release date

RUSTED DAWN have announced that their debut, full-length ‘The Black Tides of War’ will be released in North America on Tuesday, March 30th by Diminished Fifth Records (distributed in Canada by Sonic Unyon and in the USA by Relapse Records).

With only two months from the release date the band have revealed another track, ‘By The Hammer of Thor’ on their Myspace in addition to ‘Master Species’ which they revealed for free download back in December.

Primordial DVD pushed back

Due to technical reasons the release of the long anticipated PRIMORDIAL DVD All Empires Fall had to be pushed back for two weeks. Irish Pagan masters PRIMORDIAL will now release their first ever DVD All Empires Fall on March, 12th / March, 15th 2010 via Metal Blade in Europe! It´ll be a DVD-set containing two discs full of quality material!

Disc 1 is the centrepiece of the DVD and features a full PRIMORDIAL headline show recorded live on the 24th of January, 2009 in their hometown of Dublin, Ireland. The show was filmed with five cameras and has an exceptional vintage look due to the hard work in post production. A truly impressive and powerful live gig, exciting from start to finish in front of die hard PRIMORDIAL audience and a perfect sound track that is available in stereo and 5.1!

Disc 2 features live clips from the bands appearances at Ragnarok Festival (Germany), Hove Festival (Norway) and Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) in 2008. The second disc also features a band documentary with all the inside stories and loads of ancient footage from the early stages of the band. The documentary has a playing time of approx. 60 minutes. Interviews with all band members and rehearsal footage complete the second disc of the set!

The special Deluxe version of All Empires Fall features expanded packaging and two additional audio CDs featuring the Dublin show!

…the gods have been working hard dogging the release of our first dvd 'All Empires Fall' but finally we are ready to prevail. The DVD will contain our Dublin show from last year, a documentary and bonus material from recent festivals. The special edition will contain the audio discs of the Dublin show, so you can hear how some old classics are played now, some almost two decades after writing. So how does it look? The simple answer is and without exaggeration possibly one of the best Metal live shows I've ever seen. We filmed it on analog reels, cut it with frightening pace and mixed it up with some very unconventional camera angles. It has the feel of a classic show from the late 70s not the clean, clinical digital vacuum most modern shows are filmed in. We also invested a lot of time, money and effort so don't expect one of those free recordings most festivals and soundstages offer. As normal we didn't do anything conventionally so there are no boring balcony stills or side of stage montages. Dew-Scented announce new album title

German Thrashers DEW-SCENTED are finally in the studio recording their new album! Here´s an update from singer Leif Jensen:

After some last preparations in our rehearsal room this past weekend, we started tracking drums at Soundlodge Studios with Jörg Uken on Monday. Its fucking freezing outside, but in terms of drumming things are going great so far and Marc-Andrée is on fire!

The material for this new album is INTENSE and the drumming pretty demanding, so its gonna be fun working some more on this one…

Leif also reveals Invocation as the album title for this forthcoming longplayer to be released in May.

By the way, we can now reveal as well that the new album will be entitled Invocation. Our buddie and longterm partner in all visual matters Björn at killustrations.com has already prepared some killer artwork concept as well! We are super stoked with the results!

In other news, DEW-SCENTED have been confirmed to return to Frances awesome Hellfest Open Air this year!

Cataract enter studio in June

Swiss Thrash heroes CATARACT have changed plans and pushed back their studio time to June/July. Straight from the keyboard of drummer Patrick Dürst:

Its murphys law. As soon as you have everything sorted, everything changes again. Here we go: our planned stay in the studio will be moved towards June/July, this will give us more time to sharpen the blades so its not a bad thing after all. However, the release date will also be moved and well keep you posted about it as soon as we know more. Were already more than busy with the new material and we will have a pre production done in Feb/march.

The band will nevertheless play a couple of shows over the next few months: We will add some dates very soon as these changes give us some space. However, we will keep the amount of shows to a minimum so we dont obstruct the preparations/work on the new album. Check our dates section and our MySpace to see the dates we have confirmed. Changing the studio also means well have to cancel some shows for summer which have already been confirmed but not yet announced. Were sorry about this but youll understand that our 6th album is our top priority!

The eminent metal outfit ARMA GATHAS has just signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records!

The bands debut Dead To This World will be released the 23rd / 26th of April in Europe and the 27th of April in North America!

ARMA GATHAS, consisting of former CATARACT guitarist Simon Fülleman, ex-BORN FROM PAIN singer Ché Snelting, MACHINEMADE GOD and ex-CORNELIUS guitarist Marc Niedersberg, ex- DISLOYAL drummer and talented drum student Max van Winkelhof and Alex Härtel on bass, recorded their debut album Dead To This World in November 2009 at the Barracs studios together with Sky Hoff as a producer, who worked with Caliban in the past. Mastering was done by the legendary Alan Douches at the West West Side Studio in New York together with Simon in early December.

Blackened-thrash overlords, SKELETONWITCH will play two free Scion shows this week; Wednesday the 10th in Atlanta and Thursday the 11th in Los Angeles. SKELETONWITCH's latest full length, "Breathing The Fire" was recorded with legendary producer, Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, Soundgarden). The album was released by PROSTHETIC RECORDS on October 13 and debuted at number 151 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and number 2 on the magazine's "Heatseekers' Chart." Frontman, Chance Garnette, is on the cover of the current Terrorizer Magazine and the band have found themselves on countless "Best of 2009" lists.

Woe of Tyrants announce new album title

Woe Of Tyrants spent the entirety of 2009 criss-crossing the US on a multitude of tours. After the grueling schedule came to a close, did they head home to rest and take some time off? NOPE! They dove right into songwriting for the follow up to their sophomore album and Metal Blade debut, Kingdom Of Might. This time around, the guys have seriously turned up the shred-knob and churned out some of the most exciting songs we've heard swirling around the Metal Blade offices in quite some time. On this record, you'll find equal parts speed, groove and over the top guitar soloing. Headbanging will be mandatory.

The new album, Threnody, will be released worldwide on April 13th while the band will be on the road with Overkill and Vader. The artwork and first track will be up on the band's myspace, myspace.com/wot, in the coming weeks. Before then, SiriusXM Liquid Metal listeners will be treated to an exclusive premiere of the first single, Creatures Of The Mire on Friday, February 12th.

Vocalist Chris Catanzaro discusses the themes of Threnody:
Well 2009 proved to be a monstrous one for Woe of Tyrants. It was a year of accomplishing goals such as releasing our debut Metal Blade album, touring with bands we've grown up listening to, and meeting thousands of awesome people all over the country. As we embark into 2010, our goals have shifted up a few gears. We have a brand baby spankin' new record that we finished recording at the end of 2009 with Jamie King producing, and to embrace the cliché "this is the most epic brutal stuff we've ever done and we're stoked on it!" The album is entitled Threnody. Now for those of us who do not know what that word means right off hand (I had to look it up as I was reading a passage from Ralph Waldo Emerson long ago), a threnody is a song or hymn inspired by the grief of losing someone you love. The album tells a story of a non-specific individual traveling between planets searching for answers, while paralleling Satan's fall from grace to damnation at the same time. We all experience a change at some point as we travel through life, albeit not of the same magnitude as Lucifer, that will render us either content, or disgusted. When disgust is the feeling, then we begin to miss our former self as if they were an entirely different person. I'd like to be clear that I'm not referring specifically to Christians, or Muslims, or Amish or whatever else the kids are doing these days. Threnody, as we are using it, is a story of grief over losing oneself. This album will surprise those familiar with our band, and hopefully surpass any preconceived notions of those who are listening to us for the first time. If you have expectations for this record to sound like our last two albums, it doesn't. Well, a little like the others, as we still prefer playing leads over doing breakdowns, and we still wish we were Wintersun or Decapitated. But for the most part, this record is new territory for us and we are excited to unleash it.

We have a huge touring schedule kicking off in the spring, preceded by some regional shows in February as a part of the "Metal as Art" tour with Hypno5e, Starring Janet Leigh and Fallen Martyr. At the end of March, we leave on the KILLFEST tour which features Overkill, Vader, God Dethroned, Warbringer and Evile. We couldn't be happier about being involved with such an epic tour, and to join Overkill on their 25th anniversary tour is truly an honor. Much love!"

Icarus Witch touring with Paul Di'Anno

Pittsburgh's masters of traditional metal ICARUS WITCH are on the road right now alongside original Iron Maiden vocalist PAUL DI'ANNO! Not only are ICARUS WITCH direct support for the full tour, the band are also acting as the backing band for Di'Anno's full set, taking on double-duty every night of the tour.

ICARUS WITCH's third full-length album Draw Down The Moon is to be released February 9th via Cleopatra Records/Koch Distribution. The nine-track album sees the band in a more mature, yet increasingly aggressive song writing mode, stripped of the extraneous bells and whistles of synths and samples and just straight-up rocking out! The band was recently described as having a "Heavy influence of Iron Maiden combined with good old fashioned hard/rock metal production and great musicianship" by Don Jamieson, host of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show.
