REVIEW: Abortus - Process Of Elimination Code666, 2001
7/10
Abortus - Process Of Elimination - cover art When I listened to this release I noticed that the hope for extreme metal is not dead yet. Abortus was formed in Sydney, Australia, in the middle of 1998 and are now ready to unleash their first label release so far on the Italian label Code666 who has brought us great bands like Rakoth and Ephel Duath. In other words they know how to pick up quality bands and Abortus is another great pick. When you decide to give it a go for brutal death metal there is a big chance you fall into the trap of sounding exactly the same on each single track but this is not the case with these Australian fellows. The intensity of their music is immense, the growling vocals are varied and well performed, they know how to use a skilled human drummer and the top-notch production adds even more power to this deadly dose of metal. Abortus have arrived and they are here to stay. Australian bands don't often make themselves known in Europe but when they do you can be sure that you get nothing but high quality metal. There is nothing unique here but it is still a nice release.
